Magic resistance for players is already quite complicated with so many different flavors of magic around (life, death, air, water, fire, earth, fart, etc) - how about fixing these two items that are supposed to give MR, but don't to players?

The enchantments on both those items work as intended.

I've not changed anything.
Both work. As far as I know they've always worked.

Magic ID on both items says that they offer magic resistance, however they do not offer any form of resistance to players when worn. Could you check again?

Maybe it's the NPC "spells" that are not spells are not testing against magic resistance

I tested the black platemail, it works.

There used to be a dwarven fullplate located in Moria behind the boiling water.
I was told it had many resistances, but I do not really know.
I do not think it was fart protected.

The black fullplate does indeed work, that is great news! Thank you for fixing it. The Great mithril chainmail still provides no added magic resistance benefits (i can go into detail how we tested this in private, as I don't want to be giving too much away) - but having done redundant tests and controlling for other possible factors it is no better than a regular decent (no-reistance) armour.
