Previous Ideas - Shaking characters out of stagnation.

The stagnation problem, where you log your char on but are stuck for an idea for something to do, don't see any friends awake and idle for a while then just quit. How to combat it??
Meet more people, team more, expand killing areas, sparkle as a hub, easier to get the good gear/auction house, warfare systems, quest exp and brute reform, death penalty.
Despite any flaws with moderation there was still a lot of positive discussion going on on the last forum... I believe that you can view the topics without being logged in so instead of re-inventing the wheel perhaps we should first take a look over some of the previous discussions and see if we can cherry pick ideas to discuss further here...
