Ad. 1. (random player becoming vampire for 10 hours)

In my case, it would look like that:
Finally find some time to play the game between work/uni/kid.
Log in and find out you're a vampire.
Log off and go cry in the corner because when you finally find the time to play, you get screwed and forced to play something you have absolutely no interest in.

Why the fuck do you assume that EVERYONE would like to play some uber shit? Why do you assume that EVERYONE would like to be a vampire?
WHY THE HELL FORCE SOMETHING ON ANYONE?

Ad. 2. (werewolves)

I'd like to see them, but in a much different form than you're suggesting. And as a guild, not another random screw over.

Ad. 3. (block)

*sigh*
Really, can't you get over it? Up to my knowledge, most deathtraps in the game have been removed (dfear paralyze, dwarven warmace, inability to walk when stunned etc. etc.) and you want to start putting them back in?
Block with 100% block rate is too powerful, with 99,9% block rate does very little or nothing (this days, when people can just type "/for i do 1500 e" to try and leave the room 1500 times in an instant, they're bound to succeed).
It's a skill you train in AG up to superior layman, what the fuck do you want it to do? It's not like you can pick people's pockets with skill from AG either...

As I see it, it's perfectly fine. You attack someone and you have a small chance to keep him in the room for a second or so longer, which is pretty damn good for the skill from AG if you ask me. It's not gamebreaking, but I believe that there are (or will be) some people who will score kills thanks to it.

Ad. 4. (on/off warfare)

What? If you don't want to fight, don't join the guild that's actively taking part in them.
If you join such guild and get killed, whine all you want, I don't give a fuck.

It's really that simple. Why make it complicated with adding some stupid features 1 in 10 persons will use and were they to be implemented, it would take time which wizards could spend coding something that could actually be useful and fun.

And we have a new world record when it comes to overreacting...

Great minds think alike, I suggested something similar a few months back.

http://www.genesismud.org/forums/viewto ... 42&start=0"
Another interesting possibility would be that the dark gift
could be passed on in the form of a curse.
Making it more like a club, or event..
You fall to a Vampire and they Sire you as a new vamp.
The lore differs here, some saying the vamp has to give
the victim their blood to Sire and others saying that
any killed by a vampire rise a vampire.

Would be fun to see Vampirism spreading through the
realms and Knights etc struggling to come to terms
with it. A la Aimee's RP.
The other option would be death to cleanse the system.

Or we could go all out and have a Vampires Vs. Werewolves
event. Where some players start out as Vamps and others
werewolves. It replaces all current guilds. Pkill
battles decide who turns most others / kills most enemies.
Nice idea for an event.
Think it would make a great event. Perhaps someone should actually mail it to the AoE :)

So as Rhaegar says it might not be for everyone. But that is the same with all events.
Perhaps a new island could open and the event be limited to those shores.
Powers leave you when you depart.
So its not forced on anyone.

On the limited warfare, warfare within limits of a treaty or whatever.
I think something along those lines will happen in the future.
Because some players (including me) often fail to show enough restraint in who they attack when guilds are being aggressive to each other.
Its the old mindset, if your at war everyone is fair game...

Regarding werewolves....

What has crossed my mind has been... a druid occupational guild, that focused on shapeshifting. I was thinking in terms of a jack-of-all-trades guild, where they had tools to deal with any situation, but didn't excel in any one role. I was thinking in terms of a guild that utilized spellcasting skills in order to shift into animal forms for offense, defense, stealth, or utility (each form boosting other skills, whether defense, unarmed combat, sneak & hide, etc.) I thought it would be neat for members to be able to choose from a selection of forms (description wise) to suit their roleplay - certainly werewolf roleplay included.

It does need ideas and discussion to keep it fresh.
IMO it also will benefit from more guilds. I for one am looking forward to the new craft guilds with baited breath :)

I guess its one step away from the summoner class..
I loved it in Hell gate London..
I went straight in for the hack and slash types but when I got around to trying the summoner and his pets it was super fun.
