the x-slay and x-damage stones are quite useless however?

Naaa, troll slayer when going through Neraka or something speeds it up quite a but

Had a slay dragon cloak aswell and it helped ALOT against dragons, so make an intense stone and go beat on something, you'll see pure nastyness

strange ... I had slay-undead on boots and it never triggered on wights ... thought you need it on the weapon (that will hit the enemy) or armour (that will be hit by the enemy) ...
cloak - as you say, whenever it's hit by the dragon = chance to trigger; things like boots or gloves however won't work, right?

Foot is not a valid hit location :)
Is why your boots never wear down and is an excellent slot to put imbue on.

Pfft, you guys are spoiled. I've yet to find a boot large enough to squeeze into.
One dwarf carcass looked promising but it bursted :(

THey need to hit the item in question, or come in contact with, so imbue a weapon with undead slaying and you'll have a blast

I do wonder though based on the imbuement list I have found on the internet and my own results from Karkadelt why some things are lacking while other seemingly useless things are in place.
I recall Gorboth stating not too long ago that only a small fraction of possible imbuements had dropped so far, which admittedly, might be Keeper for "we'll add more as we think of them". I thought it had been on the forums, but a quick search didn't yield the quote I expected. On the other hand, given your intro and Alorrana's response, I did note his Statement of Philosophy (nothing about cows enjoying anything) and Goals for imbuements. In short, I think this has been a great addition and the wizards deserve a lot of praise, which I am sure I'll deliver by Christmas. In the mean time, it might be interesting to discuss how well it's met the goals and suggest, possibly unnecessary tweaks.

I'd say this has been successful on its face, but what I have yet to experience is any strong combat advantage for the NPCs against me. For instance, I think I noticed the combat take a bit longer against healing and dark is noticeable, but routine. Maybe it's because of the low intensity drops I've gotten, but I was expecting the occasional several extra notches of excitement and danger. Perhaps NPCs should get more benefit from the lower-level imbuement effects?
gorboth wrote:- Making every kill seem like a pull a the good-ol-imbuement slot machine.
I think this has worked, but slot machines have more blinky lights and a poster nearby showing the big winner. Perhaps there is room in the lore for some showy effects on wield, wear and their reverse? Also, as I understand it, a casino will usually have the odds tweaked on the slots so that there will be a big winner during the Grand Opening and then dial it back.
gorboth wrote:- Putting more fun and varied magical items into the game.
Another solid showing here, and I believe it may be we have a lot of effects yet to see, but where are the odd, mixed blessing and negative imbuements? Where is the imbuement that makes it difficult to unwield, the one that increases your hunger (and herb capacity), the one that increases damage to armours, the one that makes you look different or the ones that give a special attack?
gorboth wrote:Challenging players to master the deep lore of the imbuement system
Yes. Challenge accepted, although I haven't been particularly focused on imbuements to date.
gorboth wrote:- Creating a vast new money sink (the crafting is *very* expensive)
Currently, I think I am slightly ahead.
The preceding collection of words was presented by Strider's Player.
Any meaning you ascribe to them is most likely due to lucky happenstance or your misinterpretation.

If you'd prefer Strider's opinion, you'll probably have to ask for it in game.

Isn't one of the problems with imbuements, that we're too powerful for them to really matter much?
Atleast in normal grinding sessions. For assassination purposes once in a blue moon, I guess I can see a reason to spend all those stones on a super-awesome-gnome-killer sword or something.

If we were all happy running around with a splendid sword, then the imbuements would be a helluvalot more desireable.
