Minstrel Recode

I apologize for muddying the waters --- in my defence, when so many changes are happening in the realms kind of all at once .. its kind of expected that people are going to get nervous about options they currently have disappearing .. or excited about new options appearing ..

I'll just emphasize - I really don't want to see heal go away from minstrels.
If something I wrote sounds confusing ... assume you misunderstood it.

I love the idea of music not always being considered as pure good --- people using music in many ways... to create anger .. to manipulate feelings in others or actions.. I think about snakes being "swayed" by the music of the Charmer. would be nice to have a little less traditional "bard" and storytelling concept for the guild ..

I am all for minstrels remaining neutral btw.
They should never have been anything else tbh :)

Just to set the direction for discussion, let me share what's in my mind at the moment on the Minstrels.

Traditionally, I think Minstrels are bards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minstrel). They are storytellers who happen to weave in music into their storytelling. Their ability to play music and tell stories is what makes them valuable as performers and as companions. They come in all shapes and sizes, and can be any alignment (not just neutral).

For Genesis, I see most layman magical guilds as supplemental guilds. Some may be good supplements for the individual, some for the team. Minstrels falls in the category of the type of guild that is meant to help buff up the party or to hurt the opponent in a way that helps others in your party slay them. (eg. even if they don't use a sword themselves, they can make someone more susceptible to blades if their teammate has a sword). Does that include heal? Probably. We'll have to see how the first couple of magical guilds go before we can really decide.

With that context in mind - what would you like to see?
