Mounts
Could the mounts be re-worked a bit?
It's pretty annoying to see "big bad wolf with Someone riding on it and Someone" when looking in the room and when they're moving...
Let me elaborate on this a bit. In a text-based game the information structure and hierarchy is very important since it's easy to clutter the screen with lots of text and it might be hard for people to filter the information correctly if it's scrolling fast. When you enter a room it's important to know who is standing there, if they're riding any mount is secondary information at best and what kind of a mount it is isn't really of much concern (if the mounts did something in combat this would be of more significance).
With the things as they are we first see the mount, then who's riding them and then on top of all that the rider. There's a lot of redundancy in here and the information is served in order from least to most important, surely not how it should be.
In short, is:
"this and that mount with Someone riding on it and Someone are standing here"
should be:
"Someone riding this and that mount is standing here"

Re: Mounts
That would work too I guess. Right now I believe that there's too much clutter and unnecessary information that you don't need right away.

I like it. Short and to the point.gorboth wrote:Or, alternatively, what about simply:
Someone (mounted)

Re: Mounts
Though it's cool if you can see the mount too.
How about if it looks like this:
"Recoba, Gorboth on a pale eerie horse, Gadez on a large bug-eyed centipede, Aristos and Morglum"

Re: Mounts
Actually Recoba.. You address something I have wanted for a long time in Genesis.
A diversity of mounts..
Now you have horses(and wolves if you are red fang, and different things as Morgul Mage) but wouldnt it be fun if there were more publically available types of mounts?
Like giant spiders, giant bats, lizards, lions and tigers and bears et cetra

Didn't the Wizards just put in some new mounts from Tyr?amberlee wrote:Actually Recoba.. You address something I have wanted for a long time in Genesis.

Re: Mounts
Most certainly it does. And if you want to see it in full glory, use the new Genesis Web Client, as Serpine's are among the finest magic map creations in Genesis.amberlee wrote:Bird?! :O
