The fact that you dont think you teamed with Amberlee sort of proves my point :)
No, it proves something completely different. You point is just a lie.

Well, if you think that.
You were more AFK then you think :)

There are 2 ways it could happend :
Jar teamed with your second or third or ... etc and you just forget that it wasn't Amber.
or
You teamed with another char you remember as Jar but it wasn't him. It's one one most active and talkative players I know just as Bonk or Fluffy. He botting for several hours ? Nah, many but not him.

Alright.

I decided to code this boulder for the sake of science (bitches), and
a proof of concept. The item logs a great many things (both live feed and
regular logs), and revealed who was AFK, even to some degree who's
sharing same script.

Preventing players that are nonsentient to enter and benefit from
gamecontent was the main goal, and right now, many has passed
the boulder with little to no effort. For someone awake, this poses
no real issues unless they lead AFK members (atleast a couple of
teams were caught. Some even communing us to remove it
because they can't get past it due to their AFK members being
unable to solve the simple puzzle).

This test reached beyond my expectations, and the data collected
will prove useful for future gamecontent that will disfavour
bots and AFK players. Also, most players giving feedback are
in favour of this test and how it was conducted (I assume
bot-teams are viewed as a scourge in Genesis because they ruin
the reason for others to play the game).

For future reference: Do not drag around AFK players in new dangerous
content, because it may end in tears...

It's clear from this thread people are both positive and negative about this idea, but to get some more opinions about it I started a poll here: https://www.genesismud.org/forums/viewt ... f=2&t=3343

If it's interesting (and I have been mentioning carrots instead of sticks countless times before), then why not alfa test this approach instead of another stick? Give people incentive, not penalties.

As on the logic of a boulder blocking an attempt to bot: currently that's not a punishable offence (attempt to bot but failing to do so), so why even bother?

Fighting for those long hours against the same trolls/ogres/elves/shitsmth, your hand starts to itch - you think you are going to hit Irk instead of the troll if you do not <control hand> soon.
You start hitting Irk instead of the troll - you are going to slam him hard soon, if you do not <control yourself> soon.
You start hitting everyone in the team - you are going to run yourself against their weapons if you do not <take control> soon!
You start taunting your team and they start focusing you, instead of the troll ... etc. etc.
Combined with the inability to kick from team + vast randomness in commands required (they need to be short and visible though!) + inability to execute team commands = much better results than another number challenge disguised as a boulder.

Way way way to easy to just make a trigger to "controll myself" :P If its supposed to have any affect at all, it needs to be something thats not piss easy to trigger
