7 years ago ... CMUD mapper help needed

Hmmm.
What can I say.
After 7 years of void, I decided to log on again to the portal/
Now, it seems my old backup cant be found, so I started with a fresh install of my client of old CMUD. I will need to rediscover the lands and build out again my lost knowledge, but that should be great fun.
What is annoying is that the CMUD mapper (latest version, clean install) does not recognize the rooms properly and I need to type Who to trigger it working.
I got some vague advice on Zuggsoft using triggers and #TAGS but I dont seem to get it working.

Before I lapse back in a seven year void, anyone around here that can help me out with getting the basic mapper working again ?

Have you tried using the official client that you can play through the website? It is quite robust compared to what we used to offer. It features maps that are quite a bit cooler than zmud maps!

Try configuring the mapper to only capture room names and room exits.

The official client is complete garbage when it comes to setting up triggers and aliases though.
Looks pretty but not very useful if you plan to invest large amounts of time in the game.

i never even upgraded to cmud,. still on zmud. but i tried cmud a bit and think this was the same
every time i loose setting have a similar problem.
I fix it doing a new config, a little box pops up send a direction to the game and looks at the text to set room name etc.
its really just picking a few important things. like

: exits after colon
> end of mud output

u can edit a config and set them urself if the wizard app not working

if anyone wants a decently complete zmud map can upload it somewhere pm me


the client making me want to upgrade to cmud as zmud not support gmcp and clients health bars r cool

cmud supporting gmcp allows them to make a window to include magic map beside zmud type map if they want, i believe

Client is great and great looking and mobile, someone should share a pimped out customized version to try and tempt us away from ol' faithful.

things i currently would hugely miss..
command input buffer, so i can press up arrow key or click on a little box to cycle back through my recent cmds

kill orc
get all from corpse
up enter
up up enter
up enter
up up enter
enter tent

typing each cmd kills client for me (i do client on a tablet, maybe that already on client when on a pc?)

can set up multi state buttons in zmud
eg button for looting
1 get all
2 get coins
3 off
