Yeah and if the grub quest and beggars' club quests still remain exclusive to small people, a really prominant note explaining that would be good.
I sadly missed begger quest

and missed... Firedome :(

Lore and legacy both support the church being the starting place. The Sparkle Stone that rests in the church is one of the old original ideas that Styles set in place when he created Sparkle back in 1992(ish), and there is story there that brings the concepts together.

I am all in favor of improving the experience for new players and those who wish to gather in a given place. I would want to do it with care, though - keeping lore and legacy in mind.

Maybe keep everything the same, but allow people to whisper in the Church? Keeps it respectful.

sooo....

I havent seen any newbies around when i pass through sparkle, unless catching them at random at the Auction tent counts.

Am i there during wrong times, or are they simply not flocking to the same place anymore?
Seems the pub-update is before christmas and the church is still silent :-)

As far as I know there is no gathering place anymore.

Newbies just go about their business for most part... I tried to idle (without any unique items, before people bash me...) almost 30 hours in a row in the pub, exactly ONE person came in, and to buy drink to heal up.

I meet people there. Maybe if we mention it on the ntell line ... I think the pub is a much more reasonable place as a gathering point, than the church. Might take a bit of time and effort to catch on, but who says to their buddies or acquaintances or potential business partners "Meet me at church and we'll figure something out ..." Never made sense to me.

Looking forward to some more interactive features in the pub, too.

Agreed, not much rational or sensible has ever come out of churches :P

Good art, architecture, and music, though! :-)
