Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
Firedome is the arena for the sport Fireball. It's located in Gelan. You can't fight there, you play a football-like sport in teams of four.
Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
Then it doesn't matter anyway I guess. Sounds like a church-like zone. Thanks.Cherek wrote:Firedome is the arena for the sport Fireball. It's located in Gelan. You can't fight there, you play a football-like sport in teams of four.
Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
Seemly every time I make a post people assume I am wanting combat boosting things or OP stuff.
So just being clear:
1. There is no "maximum level" in Genesis. If you have enough patience you can reach arbitrarily high stats.
2. The amulets are, obviously, to make people WEAKER, not stronger... a amulet boosting your level would be silly.

Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
You can use that amulets and do your duel in orc fortress right?

Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
Do people actually play this? I took a look at the signage and oof! Steep learning curve. It seems sort of like arcade fussball except you can choose different formations, and there's an obstacle in the middle, and you obviously control your players with text commands and ... how do you tell where the ball is? And all of this with three other people whom you can't actually see ... Seems pretty flippin involved.Cherek wrote:Firedome is the arena for the sport Fireball. It's located in Gelan. Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
The best way to do it? Just play. Grab a few friends and give it a whirl. I haven't done it in probably 10+ years. I remember having fun. There WAS a learning curve, and setting up aliases was REALLY helpful, but that's all I remember. I tried to get it set up with a friend recently, but it was just the two of us and we had alternate goals in mind so we didn't bother hiring any NPCs to round out the team. Might see if I can hire enough NPCs to play solo.sylphan wrote:Do people actually play this? I took a look at the signage and oof! Steep learning curve. Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
Gorboth should put his ASCII skills to the test and see if he can make Fireball more graphical!
Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
Fireball was awesome! I remember playing from a university computer lab with 4 friends and we had a blast. We were shouting at the top of our lungs and other students were staring at us like we were mental
Re: Karkadelt's Duel Amulets
I really had a blast too the few times I've played. Yes, there is a learning curve, but it's not as complicated as it looks on first glance. It's really very nicely designed and it's a bit sad so few know about it. I remember getting the hang of it pretty quickly, but I also remember that one of the players in our team was quite clueless so we put that person as a goalie, as that's the least complicated position. So to play you basically need three people who understands it, and then you need to teach a goalie to just stand in goal and kick the ball to a teammate after making a save.Rincon wrote:Fireball was awesome! I've always wanted to create a "Fireball World Cup" event. I think that could be pretty awesome, and would raise the awareness for Fireball. Since there is a real world cup coming up this year it would be quite fitting too. If I find myself with time over one day, and if Petros like the idea, perhaps it can happen. Or if I can convince some other wizards to code it... any volunteers?:)
