Code: Select all
Oh, did I say Nerf? That's everyone's favorite word, right? Lots of presents
and gifts left on any wizard's doorstep when they say it? No? Bummer.
Anyway, yes. Cotillion became aware of a truly ridiculous bug in Shire which,
for the past eleven years, has resulted in gold and platinum being given
out as rewards for killing npcs there instead of copper and silver. So, many
(not all) npcs in Shire have been giving out 12x more money than they should
have for the past decade.
That ends after this army. Adjust your coin expectations and fiscal futures
as appropriate.

But! But! Bilbo's wealth was spread around to all the corners of the Shire!

Sounds like a bug in the piece of code for domain npcs? But - as you said, "not all"
npcs were broken - so you are saying that even bugs in Shire are buggy?

Zugzug, there was a central formula in Shire code that, if an npc used it, determined how much coinage that npc should carry based on its stats. Not all npcs used this formula, but many did.
Johnny, you sound like a Sackville-Baggins.

If I was a member of the GoG I'd be outraged at my income being slashed.

So in reality what you're saying is you pretty much made Barrows useless.

So guess we can expect a Tower of Arms, Haven Dwarf Camp and Qualinesti nerf too then?

This is tbh a truly shitty change
Imo lower the value of the gear there instead but keep the pure drops, it was a great place for mid/uppersmall sized people to get some basic cash for skills

Probably also a great place for huge players to grind away to boost their accounts, much faster and more efficient than any mid/uppersmall sized people could ever do.

What Draugor said.
This change shows how insanely out of touch you guys are with how the game is played.
And that's a bad thing.
