The Golden Egg event lasts starts on Friday April 19
20:00 GT (Game Time).

The event ends exactly 24 hours after the first player has
transformed their egg into a golden egg (see below). So,
depending on the skill of the participants the event could
finish quickly, or take a fairly long time.

However, should no player manage to finish the event
within two weeks, the event will end on Friday May 3
20:00 GT.

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
                     HOW DOES IT WORK?
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

Everyone who wish to participate in the event must visit
Beatrice in Sparkle. Who? You can't miss her, she's the
only talking hen around. If you give her a squeeze she
will give you a common white egg. Your goal is to
transform this egg to a golden egg. The first participant
who manages to do that wins, but as mentioned above, the
event will last for another 24 hours after that, so anyone
else who manages to turn their egg into a golden egg will
also be greatly rewarded.

But how do you turn your common egg into a golden egg?

Easy. Your egg will contain riddles, and for each riddle
solved your egg will level up, and change material. The
egg starts on level 1, and to turn it into a golden egg
you need to reach level 15.

Each riddle refers to a specific location somewhere in
Genesis. When you think you know the answer to one of the
riddles on your egg, you simply go to that location and
shake the egg. If it's correct, your egg will level up,
but if it's incorrect you won't be able to shake it
again for another 30 minutes.

Your egg will always show three different riddles, and
when you solve a riddle it will be replaced with a new
one, until there are no riddles left to solve.

                        THE REWARDS
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\

- The first person who turns their egg into a golden egg
will receive a fancy title and also a golden eggpack.
A what? An eggpack! A gnomish egg-shaped backpack that
turns anything you put in it almost weightless. How
   cool is that?

The title will last for 1 year, and the eggpack for 30
   days.

- Should more than one person turn their egg into a
golden egg, the first and second runner ups will also
receive an eggpack (but no title).

- Everyone who turns their egg into a golden egg will
also receive a substantial amount of quest experience.
However, the MORE people who turn their eggs golden,
the LESS experience will be rewarded per person.

This means that you can work together and trade
information as much as you want, but doing so comes
with the risk of receiving a smaller reward in the end.

- An additional amount of quest experience will also be
awarded to everyone who reaches egg level 5 and egg
level 10. So, even if you don't think you can win,
there is still quest experience to work for.

IMPORTANT:

As noted above, should no player manage to finish the
event within two weeks, the event will end on Friday
May 3 20:00 GT. If that happens, the participant(s) with
the highest egg level at that time will be considered
winner(s) and will receive a quest experience reward,
but this reward will be fairly small and more of a
consolation prize then anything else. Also, there will
be no title, no eggpack and no glory for the consolation
winners.

You will only be able to see your own egg level, but to
give you an idea about how you are doing in the event you
can ask Beatrice about <eggs> in order to learn how
many eggs she has given out and their current level.

It is possible for everyone, regardless of race or align,
to reach all locations.

There are 14 riddles in total and all participants will
get the same riddles to solve, however, the riddles will
be presented in a random order on each egg.

You can only solve riddles that are visible on your egg.
Even if you know the answer to a riddle you have seen on
someone else's egg, you must wait until it shows up on
YOUR egg until you can solve it. Shaking your egg in the
correct location for a riddle that is NOT visible on your
egg will not work.

Looks soo cool !
Hope it will be bugless and as enjoyable as it looks from description.
Great work !

Is that only me who thinks that there should be 30+ locations total and only random 14 added to each egg ?

I hope it will be bugless too!:)

We decided that everyone should get the same riddles and locations for fairness, so luck isn't a factor. We'll see how it plays out and evaluate as always.

Cherek, this is a great idea! A real breakthrough, a new formula for the events. Scripters can't take advantage anymore. I love it, though I probably won't participate due to qexp cap.

I'd imagine people who want to win this, are running throughout the realms with brief discriptions off and logging each room ;)

Btw. how is your board game project coming along?

Thanks! Yes, that is the plan with the new events, try to make them less scriptable and more interactive. Hopefully it gives more people a chance to win.

Yes, some people might try the "brute force" strategy, but this is something we have been aware of when designing the event, so I don't think that will be overly helpful.

And you can still participate for the glory, the eggpack and the title!

As for our board game projects, it's going well, thanks for asking, but probably not a topic for this forum thread. :)
