Hello Genesis,
This note is about Finwe, a long-time friend of mine and a
long-time friend to many of us on Genesis. He is currently in
a very serious condition and has been hospitalized again.
Finwe has spent decades on Genesis, both as a player and as
a wizard. Most of his wizarding career was dedicated to
Middle-Earth, but his fingerprints can be found all over
Genesis.
For example, Finwe created Imladris (Rivendell), Green Oaks
(otherwise known as Faerie) west and south of Sparkle, the
Halfling guild in Faerun and much, much more.
Finwe has been dealing with some health issues for a while, and
I have been in contact with one of his sisters who updated me to
let me know that he was re-admitted to the hospital on Monday due
to Multi-Organ Failure.
As of our last communication, Finwe was in stable condition, but
his situation is very, very serious.
Fortunately his sister is willing to pass along our best wishes
to him while he is in the hospital. As a result, Cherek has set
up an e-card which can be signed by a group so that she can show
him/read to him.

I would like to ecourage everyone who knows Finwe to sign the
card along with a little memory, and to also please reach out
to any former players you know who also knew Finwe and might
want to sign their name as well.
And if you didn't have the pleasure of knowing Finwe yourself,
please feel free to sign the card anyway and let him know how
much you appreciate his contributions to Genesis - after all,
you probably wander around in some of his creations every time
you login.
PLEASE NOTE: Because of the seriousness of Finwe's condition, we
do need to move quickly. As a result, the e-card will be sent to
Finwe's sister at 8am on Saturday morning US West Coast Time (PDT).
That translates to 11am EST and around 17:00 in most parts of
Europe (game time). So, if you want to sign the card, please do
it as soon as possible.
EDIT: Due to the serious circumstances we had to push forward the
deadline to 02:00 Game Time (CET), April 1. Over 70 people signed,
and the card has now been sent to Finwe's sister. A big thank you
