This game is based on resources - their generation and usage.
We have several levels of resource complexity here.

Basic - Vitals
When health reaches 0 you die. When fatique reaches 0 you
can't run. We all know the drill.
When mana reaches 0 you can't cast spells or use some items,
but you can convert any mana above 0 into health or refresh
or some evasion/shield (which is just another way to increase
your health pool).

Basic+ - items
We all collect coins, gems, armour, weapons and imbues.
Some collect herbs. Some collect potions. Some collect arrows.
We all can exchange - with different exchange rates and
mechanisms - each of these items for another. Hence - for
example - having infinite coins has great impact on your
basic resources - vitals.

"Secret" - guild/area specific
Sybarun coins.
Steel coins.
Heads for ogres.
X for vampires.
etc.
The impact of those resources is fluctuating. When
introduced, they were all important, but lost most of their
significance over time, especially with scripting and
spreading information on them.

Advanced - wizinfo
You can bypass many hurdles with it. You can know where to
collect herbs you need, that won't require skill or even the
"search here for" command. You can know when and where to
look for your desired items. You can know how to make your
life WAY easier. It was deemed as a resource so important,
sharing it is a great offence. It is being shared ALWAYS.
Between friends, family or just internally, you could say
egoistically to benefit own characters. It has never been
secret really - it's rarity is limited only by the number and
quality of access points. Those access points can be created
by willing players. You can wiz and get access to it, or
manipulate others to do it for you.
Some have always had it, some never. Some always know when to
go, to what places, to look for what items, to have an edge
over others. It has NEVER been different. The "secrecy" is a
myth upheld by both the clueless idiots and the very aware
manipulators.
THIS is the main resource that separates those who play this
game to it's full extent, from those who play it with a
blindfold and their hands tied behind their backs.
THIS is the resource that makes aquiring any of the basic,
basic+ or "secret" resources a non-issue.

Pro - wiz char/friend
Instead of using others' creations, create things tailored
for your needs. Don't wait but act and boost your ego with
tools others never had a chance to use.
Plenty people were and still are guilty of this. Many have
been deleted, some even more than once. Management failures
galore.

General - info
We have in-game boards. We have the optional forum and the
optional FB and the optional discord.
Information shared in-game is sparse.
This wiz-managed muzzle is supposedly helping with immersion.
If you like to be in the dark - don't read it. I would
however argue that the argument for secrecy which improves
immersion in this game which is actually played by 15-20
people has reached it's expiration date years ago.

Information shared in optional channels is not shared
in-game. If not for friends, I would probably miss the
crucial, basically strategy-revealing statement of the keeper
"Vamps was made as and endgame content for the already big".

I would probably also miss the statement of the vampire
coder about Galen's post - "can't say the post is wrong".

If not for friends, I would probably also be in the dark
about how haughty the AoB is with his claim that because he
is being flamed by demanding, spoiled ego-driven kids AND
approached by logical adults who see the real problems at
the same time, means he is actually "doing something right
in terms of balance". No. You are not.


I did not miss, however, how the keeper keeps downplaying
others from his high horse. It's here on this board. It's
very disappointing.
If you are anyone outside of the keepers echo-chamber, you
will be downplayed and ridiculed. Sometimes with ridiculous
statements like "I don't even think YOU believe half of what
you wrote either. I also believe the majority of the community
saw right through your post as well."

You are mistaking your echo-chamber for "the community". The
community still playing or lurking around has many people who
are outside of your filter bubbles. Some attempt to just not
see what you are doing. Some attempt to avoid the elements
they dislike. Some leave silently. Some leave with some note.

This is mine. I already left before. I returned a while ago,
after some 7 or 8 years of 0 Genesis in my life (outside of
the RL friends I have from here). I saw golden boots and
gloves with so much permanent darkness we have never had
before. I saw enhancers - something that made some guilds
unkillable. I saw HUGE chars, grown on the new combat
system. I saw HUGE stashes of platinum grown with the
allowed scripts. I saw glowing war-gems or holy armours
to counter the game-disrupting darkness, which apparently
the keeper knows is not greatly designed BUT at the same
times is fine with going even further into darkness. NOT
fixing it.
Did you know that even when you wear 3 holy glowing items,
a single pair of boots or gloves is still too dark for you
to reach into your own pack for lamps?
Did you know that even if you hold 2 lamps in your hands,
but someone in this blob of magical darkness is standing
in the same room (even if the room is huge enough to have
an oliphaunt or ancient dragon or 10 ogres in it), you
will not be able to open a scrip that is in your hands'
reach and get more lamps from it?
How many lamps are you expecting someone to carry, to
counter a team of 3 with a total of 6 permanent darkness
items, who can use a single torchstone each?
Why is the game supposed to be punishing if you can't
camp an NPC for hours OR just can't use these absurd
items?


And yet all someone pushing 50, having played this game
on and off for over 20 years, having great achievments
in RL can get from you guys are ridiculous replies.

I am not willing to validate your "strategy" with my
presence here. I choose the only option I have in this
ego-boosting-tool for 5 people, where everyone else is
treated like a nuisance - I join the others who already
left.

Bye. Again. Maybe for another 7-8 years. Who knows.
