Hello!
Over the course of time, I have seen countless players come into Genesis throughout the years. Some, who are visually impaired and play this game with a screen reader.
Now, I know there are some MUDs out there whom have entirely built a compatible option settings to align with screen readers and half of their in game population are folks who primarily play with one.
In this game, particularly in quests, which are entirely guided by ASCII art is almost impossible to complete said quests via these tools.
I know that the funds are primarily for advertisement. I would like to ask if it is possible to hire someone to do this course of work. To make Genesis more accessible and have this feature be an option for our fellow adventurers. I am highly ignorant of what other games do better in this area, and not sure how I would even implement it as an amateur wizard. It is more of a request then anything and I feel that this falls in alignment with advertisement. Since if we make this game accessible for our visually impaired players then we would see a rise in our population.
I know some players have advertise the game themselves to their own communities and we have a few trickle in here and there. It would just be amazing to have an officially supported path with this option.
Please see this article here for how another MUD has handled it, and a bit of perspective of how they would play this game:
