Code: Select all
State of the game 2025,5
Vampire numbers have decreased significantly. We have no idea why.
On an unrelated note: Morgul Mage numbers have increased. Yay! Great RP options
there, like the most potent magic shield in the game or illusion damage with
hardly any counters, but please remember they are barely playable so stop
applying! The rules are harsh as well and you should not expect a rejoin and a
speedy repromotion! And more characters are leaving the tutori island than ever
before and reach higher mortal levels, to join new guilds - awsome! Great
community! Keep up the gread job!
Speedpaths in pvp are still fobidden. Please remember we don't like Genesis
being played on your phones! Anyone caught will be punished!
On an unrelated note: no character caught using the forbidden autohunting
triggers in pvp has been deleted and their guilds have not been warned or
nerfed, for not dealing with that themselves.
A hell lot of guilds are basically dead. No idea why.
On an unrelated note: we kept adding stupidly overpowered easily attainable
items for selected few guilds. Because we can.
We lost the most active and responsive coder, who could have used some
balancing and typo support to become THE pillar of our creations.
On an unrelated note: We know some of his creations will not be implemented, so
as the great people managers we are, we want to let you know to not look out
for those anymore. Yes, a few guilds. Well, bummer! But a great community!
Everyone went SOHM. No idea why. Probably for the RP. We keep looking into this
matter for months now.
On an unrelated note: no, we didn't fix how much skills affect spells and how
much enhancers do, and no we didn't fix warlocks' spell to be usable at the
same time as SOHM. Oh and no! Magical shields that have a total of 1 counter in
the game are not broken - why would you think so?! All balanced by tax and
components and ... yeah!
My proposal: start acting like a community, which actually has a common place -
Genesis - that we ALL inherited. Some of us code, some don't. Some like
herbing, some gearing, some spellcasting, some singing, some griefing and those
should find a new place. Stop with the secrecy. It gives a platform to abuse.
Start with release notes. Not "Items were changed". No. "Items x, y, z were
charged with new potential. Feel free to explore them. If you find bugs or
uninteded consequences of their usage, please mail A, B, C." and ALL changes
are posted twice - prior to release and after.
Invite players into civil discussion instead of downplaying their input from a
high horse, i.e.:
Recode magic - how? Why?
Recode enhancers - how? Why?
Share quest exp across registered alts while showing (cynrede style?) whose alt
it is - how? Why?
Delete Laurel - all in favour please login their alts and vote ingame.
Accept commentary and info from players. ASK for it. Make it brainstorm style,
so NO WRONG IDEAS.
Let player volounteers ptest your ideas before roll-out.
Allow rollback of stupid ideas.
Make "don't have fun at others' expense!" THE MAIN rule in Genesis, again,
applicable to players and wizards alike.
Or just start with the last paragraph and work on from there with other ideas,
pre-discussed with the playerbase. Not just your own echo-chamber.
Oh and grow some balls and take responsibility for what you inherited from
others.
