The only reason I am against this is because of thsoe people who only have a layman guild. They need to have a place to put their stuff too.

Really, in a chaotic guild like Mercs, Ogres, etc... where everyone is for themselves (really they are) then it is not surprise that their are very few items in the drop rooms...people keep the stuff they buy (cause ogre stuff is EXPENSIVE) instead of dropping it to have someone break it.

I think the best way to do it would be make rack points. You need to drop to take. So therefore you are either gathering your own equipment anyways, or you are collecting eq to share with others.

Then provide a way to rack ban people who are looting the racks. Problem is even if you remove racks from layman guilds you are still going to have the same issue with rack looters.

But as I said, in a free to join guild you have to be concerned with that.

Sure,

Which is why with the two of them together you need to be donating equipment to remove items and your name goes on the list for what you removed. Make items worth a certain amount of points like the Knights have. So crappy eq is worth like 1 point and good eq is worth 3000. So you'd need 3000 splendid swords donated to remove one runie.

I do not think removing racks of layman guilds will really help.

People will still have their private stashes hidden or kept within safety.

Problem is rather the people who go out and actively chase equipment they do not need,
then just to keep it in their racks to keep away from the hand of their enemies.

Personally I try to sell any items I get my hands on that I do not need weapons/armours.
Problem is the people who want to keep items from their enemies and rather lets them
gather dust in guilds for two armageddons in a row, than to put it up for auction.

I read on the old forum about ideas about making the auction house work for trade as well
and I think thats a pretty good idea, that way perhaps the hoarders would put up some of
their gear as well, in hopes to obtain the equipment they strive for.

For example a Kender who gets a Serrated Obisidian Halberd and who wants to trade
it for a Quickwood Hoopak can do so in the auction house.
Of course a system for it would have to be coded, but I do not think it could be much
more complicated than the system with cashing for items is(or am I wrong wizards?).

How about just putting up a trade board?

Should be done within the game.

I do not think a trade board would work.

People would still be unwilling to trade with people they dislike/old enemies.

Anonymously is the way to go, similar system to the auction house is the
only way I think it would actually work.

Personally I do not care if my old enemies get the equipment I put up for
auction, but sure I will make sure they have to pay good money to get their
favorite piece of equipment ;)
