Re: PvP.
To enhance Cherek's idea a bit:
1. Designate (and clearly flag) the PvP zones. Holm style, with gates and everything so you can't easily escape too.
2. Move all the best gear there.
3. Make attacking players impossible in other zones.
Tada! You want best gear? Gotta take the risk.
You don't want to risk? You don't get the best gear, but you can still enjoy the game to its fullest without fear of being harassed.

I fear no evil for I am fear incarnate.
Re: PvP.
Once Gorboth wrote that just because someone is in an enemy guild doesn't mean you can kill him. I would like to think a good player is a player that enriches the game. Anyone who can't follow such a simple rule isn't a good player.Kas wrote:But what is a "good" player, and a "bad" player?
Think about this: someone who is playing the game for the first time may leave over a unjustified death. Do we need players that only force them to do so?

Re: PvP.
Apparently being associated with the Dagarim Aran, which isn't even a guild, was reason enough for legend Tarax to kill just-hit-hero Onton.Rhynox wrote:Once Gorboth wrote that just because someone is in an enemy guild doesn't mean you can kill him.

Re: PvP.
Ill say it again. If you dont like pvp or dont wanna risk getting killed, dont associate yourself with a faction with clear enemies. Its a big risk to join the Dagarim Aran, obviously.
Having that said, pvp still needs to be fixed so that people who arent legends and myth can participate.
The small ones will always suffer, and theyll never grow to the size to they can challenge the myths when the myths kill them all the time.
Only way to actually pvp now is more or less to bot/crazy-grind yourself to legend/myth staying totally neutral, THEN, join a pvp guild. I used to like pvp, but since I dont have time to grind for months, or the will to bot, I'll never be able to join the "fun" since Ill never get the size to be part of it. I think the huge size differences is a big part in making pvp less fun these days.
Perhaps a "two levels" rule would be good after all? A coded rule so people of greater than two mortal levels size simply cannot attack a smaller player no matter what?
But what if the smaller player is harassing them, killing their guards, and you can do nothing? Well, you'd have to send the smallers players in your guild at them then!
A veteran is bugging your guild? Well, order your own veteran-experts-rising heroes after them. If you dont got any, recruit some.
Of course, if the smaller player attacks the big ones first some "flag" maybe should be turned on so they can be attacked by anyone.
Well, thats a thought.
I think there are solutions to be found if someone is willing and daring to solve it!

Re: PvP.
Problem would be that almost noone is around that size and the few real newbies we do get tend to leave and never reach that size. So there arent to many to pick from in most guilds, imo if someone attacks your guild guards/NPCs the flag should be remove and them made attackeable by myths, nuking someones guards is a clear sign of agression and yer just asking for a beating if you do.Cherek wrote:

Re: PvP.
Let me translate this for new players: "Don't join a faction that is trying very hard to bring roleplaying back to Genesis because you will die. This is a PvP game, we don't need you here."Cherek wrote:Ill say it again. If you dont like pvp or dont wanna risk getting killed, dont associate yourself with a faction with clear enemies. How about not acting like a bunch of rectums with the philosophy, "If it moves, hit it."
