Perhaps Im the only one thinking so, but I do.. and now after only been back for like two weeks.. Im getting bored.
Equipment is important.. not only for the big players.. but for the smaller aswell.
Good equipment can make you able to do much much more, and make things more intresting perhaps.. maybe even alittle more fun.. who knows.
Perhaps your limits are to strict I dunno, but this is getting frustrating and boring for me atleast.
Superior equipment has always been crucial when/if you want to kill something thats really "above" you in skills/stats etc, problem is people has gotten spoiled and expect to have the best equipment all the time.
(and I am no exception, I'm an equipment whore and wont be happy until I have my favorite gear).
But to be honest, I do not need the best equipment to kill big monsters, I do pretty good even with
standard equipment due to my size/tactical knowledge.
I see heroes and titans running around with equipment alot of myths cannot even obtain, and with this
kind of equipment they are able to slay foes much larger then them, then once they dont have the equipment
they feel that they "suck" and cannot kill anything worth killing.
As for getting bored, what is it your bored of ? With the auction house being active, most of the super
equipment is up for sale(although the real good items are usually sold real quick), but anyone with some
coin can through auctions get the best equipment in the game, its just a matter of obtaining enough
coin to be able to do so.
I am all for lifting some of the limitations though, some of the equipment thats limited/difficult to obtain(like HSC and DMS in goblin caves, I can spend an entire day killing goblins without getting a single one, only good spot to get them is from Angmar guards)are not that "good" compared to the super items out there and should be easier to obtain.
Something that always bugged me when I was a vampire was how easy magical light items were to obtain(and the fact that their magical glow never ran out like darkness items) and to hoard, play for 1-2 hours and you can easily have 20 magical light levels, try to get the same amount of darkness and you have to play at least 5-6 hours , then by the time you have enough darkness the first ones you got were dying or players you were hunting had 50 lvls of magical light instead
I think wizards need to re-evaluate/tweak the balance between magical dark/light a bit and while they are at it, look into some of the limitations on weapons out there. Seing how weapons and armours break so easily these days its really foolish that you should have to hunt for days to obtain a runed falchion and then have it break after 1 hour, its pretty depressing. Magical items should either not break so easily or they should spawn more often.
Also while we're on the whole euipment issue, the current system is flawed. While the intentions were good
the outcome of the changes are not very good. Instead of having people rush for equipment for the first 48-72 hours you have people hunting the last 24-48 hours of armageddon to get saving equipment.
People are hunting last 2 days of arma to get 90% of the items saving, and then once armageddon hits 99% of equipment does not save and they now have all their equipment to use until it breaks, then hunt for new items
in the last 2 days of reboot.
Cause lets be honest, the first 2-3 days of armageddon very little limited equipment spawns, t, there's npcs that once you get 1 item, the next 2-3 times they respawn they have the limited items again.
Perhaps this is what was intended, but it seems weird, now its all about being around for that drop time(which is usually 3 days into reboots).
I also have to say the way it works now that you have like 1% chance of getting saving equipment in the first 3 days is kinda depressing, not to mention that if you login right after armageddon collapsing with gear, you have like 1-2 items out of a 100 that saves, I think its taking it a bit too far.
Well enough ranting from me, I am sure other people will disagree, but atleast this is how I experience the current system. Getting the best equipment isnt really hard(just look at how its really the same 4-5 guilds that get 90% of all the limited items over and over, like Neidars get all crystal axes, DA/PoT get all the knee-high brown boots etc) I can see how its discouraging for other guilds when they can hardly get any of these items and always see them on certain people.
I'll end my note by stating that we need to change/tweak the system to work diffrently, cause right now the new system is just as broken as the previous one, the only change is that the "eq hunt period" has switched from first 48 hours to the last 48 hours of each reboot.
