OK. So we have two possible solutions:
1. add HTTPS to Genesis (which is going to happen ad calendas Grecas)
2. to find a way to transfer traffic between ports 443 and 3011. Kind of proxy or what?
Am I right?

Yanus: Huh? I was mentioned in Windemere's post, just wanted to point out he probably meant Cotillion since I havent said anything at all. So there is no confusion or misunderstandings. I dont want to get "credit" for saying things I havent. I think I have all the right to say that...

Cherek, you're right. But... You know... All those questions to Windemere were so... personal and delicate

Well, dont you wanna know what kind of sensitive and secret stuff he has on his computer?

I'll send you a PM if I find out. Carry on with the SSH discussion!

Hmm... It's so peaceful and quiet here...
Tapakah - I have a question. I recall there were at least three clients so far:
1. flash - from Novo
2. java
3. current flash client
I'd like to ask you about that Java one. Could you tell me more about that client?

Log in through your phone. Depending on what you're trying to accomplish its not that bad of an option (though fighting the yeti isn't recommended.)

Anahita,
Who were you answering?

If it's Yanus, then the issue is different. It's about development.

Anahita,
You mentioned an interesting issue - Genesis on mobile hardware. A lot of research should be done in order to assess possible impact on playerbase (technical aspects: ergonomy, delays, existing clients etc). Yet we're trying here to find a way how to break through the obstacles (firewalls). Let's hope we'll manage to do it!

Sorry for writing two posts in the row. But I'd like to tell you about the interesting piece of software I've found.
It's called :
rinetd. Here's its
homepage.
What does it do? Well... It just redirects TCP connections from one IP address and port to another. And it's quite smart! I've tested it a bit on Genesis vanilla mudlib (via localhost). I was able to redirect connections from ports 9999,8888 and last, but not least,
443 to the 3011 port at the same time!
Rinetd is OpenSource, GNU GPL'ed.
Tapakah - what's your opinnion?

Umm... Can't you just get shell account somewhere, log onto it via ssh from work and connect to Genesis from there?
