You can determine if it's in-game lag or simply a connection issue by checking the ping to the genesismud.org host. Or try going to the forums or web site. If everything except the game works, then it's probably an in-game issue. If nothing works, then there are network issues from you to the host. If you know how, run a traceroute and send the output to Tapakah and we can investigate what the issue is.

I have also been experiencing 10-15 seconds of lag pretty regularly.

I have a good and reliable connection, it is only Genesis that crash. When this happens its Genesis and this Forum that doesnt work...everything else works like a charm.

I am not a computer pro, infact I shouldnt even be allowed near computers. I know how to Ping but have no idea how it can help me:)

For windows:
Start->Run
ping -t mud.genesismud.org

You will see lines like:
1. Reply from 82.80.226.92: bytes=32 time=12ms TTL=54

Meaning connection is ok.

2. Ping request could not find host

Problem with Your provider

3. Something like "Request is time out"

Problem with connection/host availability.

for most part of yesterday from office this forum would not load ... when I tried Gen, it did ...

Today I have been disconnected twice allready, and it was the Israeli router/server/whatever that was the cause to that.
This is not good for the game.

And it is getting laggy now as well. There are more people lagging in Genesis also.
