A team of champs can grind almost anywhere, including Icewall if they bring good tanks and healers. What NPC can they not kill? Genesis has put too much importance on size and so little on tactic and building the right team. With smaller size and harder enemies players will have to team more to be able to grind and they would have to be more careful when they do it.

And Mergula and the Balrog, why don't we just make them slightly easier? But just slightly, why should people manage to kill these NPCs daily? There need to be some extremely hard enemies that you can only kill with a lot of preparation and luck. lets say you need herbs for dis and healers, blackened whip, several different tanks etc? I don't like it that these so called "bosses" can get killed by a one or two people.

could be cool if the balrog walked around moria and autoattacked people on random.. hehe
then when he was out walking you would be able to take him on with a good bunch of Hektor and Sawing calians.. or what ever was needed
but when he is in hes lair, with the horde of trolls and orcs, he sould be unkillable. just my cents.
would also make trips in to moria a bit more dangerous..
cheers.

I think most of the wizards agree that brute doesn't really work very well.
The main problem is noone has the time to do the math required to change the system.
If you want to help out you know what to do.

Thats your signal Kas! If you grovel some for Gorboth maybe he'll make an exception to that council/wiz rule. If that rule is still in place? Or maybe you can just step down a little bit, fix this, and step back up?
I'd happily help out with theme and story if thats needed. But I suck at match...

One thing that would HAVE to happen though if a hardcap on size was implemented.
The removal of the idiotic and highly imbalanced racial stat bonuses/penalties.

for example: skill-related bonuses instead?
all weapon-skills drop by 10 for everyone (no more sup guru), but instead you get racial ones
hobbits - swords + clubs
elves - bows + swords
humans - polearms + axes
goblins - clubs + axes
etc. etc.?

Yeah something like that Laurel.
Not necessarily combat skill related though..
Could be something a bit different.
Like dwarves are tough and durable.. So they have a bit more damage mitigation.
Elves are master swordsmen and do slightly more damage when wielding swords.
Goblins are brutes and do more damage with two handed weapons.
And so on and so forth.
