Most people know about the site at this point so I think its a good thing to let newbies have since they are the most up to date ones that exist.

Dam usefull.
Even if I am exploring somewhere for the first time if there is a map I would use that as a guide.
I would be in favour of the game having full zmud maps available.
That each player is expected to do it for themselves is a waste of effort if that is not something you particularly enjoy..
If you do enjoy it don't look at the maps...
Tried WOT Mud briefly and they had FULL world zmud maps available.
It kept me around there longer than if I was having to explore to find the way never mind exa stuff (getting lost etc)

Most wizards do not play the game and don't have access to full zMUD maps (nor CMUD ones). If you have particularly awesome maps that you want to submit to be downloadable by new players, by all means submit them to Tapakah.

I would offer my maps as I have mapped damn near all of the game.. problem is there are a ton of side notes and labels that would just scream quest walkthrough heh.

Just really curious on the balance ?

What balance? Seeing hidden exits will unbalance the game? I don't think that by only seeng those exits you will be able to complete the quest, which is most of people here are worried about it seems, that hidden exits sound almost like wiz info... This game been out for what 15 years at least? its about time that hidden exits are available for everyone to see.
Exploration? I don't think there are many people these days who play Genesis to explore... *shrug*.

Since I cant read your side notes feel free to mail them to me along with your maps...
To be a bit serious though. My brain seems to work a lot better when I map the area myself.I have of course seen the maps at crossbearer, and used them,I cant deny that.
They are a bit to detailed for a newbie like me though, that is my personal opionion.
When it comes to more advanced players I dont really think they give away information that is new.I mean,I have teamed with big players and they always seem to know exactly how to get around in Genesis.

I remember the first few times being teamed with a champ.
You experience of moving around in Genesis sudden takes a huge leap forward for the faster...
As a consequence you had absolutely not idea where the hell you were.
One of the most fantastic features of zMud like maps is that you can have the map update and #move you when you are being lead.
This would be very nice for those not that familiar with all the areas.
