The tactics on the other thread was talking about things to do when fighting a boss I think.sharn wrote:On the other thread you write that you want more tactics, but when it comes to choice, you choose like everyone else - damage.
And you choose right, because that is what counts.
Sharn, it seems like to you, a layman guild is nothing more than a special and a few skill-levels.sharn wrote:Its not more choice. You just have to join the layman guild matching with your occupational guild.
Monk? Join angmar, minotaurs or templars. Knight? Join blademasters or militia, etc.
More damage adds nothing new. Its pretty much: add one more trigger and you are set.
Abilities like stun, heal, cleanse, rescue, evade, move behind, ... add some tactics, especially if you have team with various abilities.
On the other thread you write that you want more tactics, but when it comes to choice, you choose like everyone else - damage.

But why to code guilds for that? Waste of time. Add an layman guild similiar to merceneries, pick your skill - voila!
Everyone is happy.

However I think that you are a little out of date as Sharn is in a layman guild of her own choosing.
I did not mean ALL layman guilds.Makfly wrote: Sharn, it seems like to you, a layman guild is nothing more than a special and a few skill-levels.
But, do consider that to others a layman guild more than that.
It is adds lore to your character, giving your character a more defined role, it gives your a group to belong to as well. So there is a very good reason to have layman guilds that have somewhat similar abilities/skills, because they have vastly different lore and adds a very different role to your character. Layman guilds help to define your character and also set your character alligiances in many cases. That's a very substantial part in fleshing out your character.

You left it yesterday..
But I am quite sure that noone forced you to be a minotaur.
So it would have to be your own choice.
What I think is sad about this whole thing, is your timing in which you have made the notes.
These things came forth, when you changed from minotaur, probably with goblin stats, and to elf.. or drow, and it is now.
I think the timing is bad, because you complain and power of layman guilds, just as you left the one you were in, which gave you power then, and were never a problem when you were a member.
You now say things about goblins and races, wanting more from int and wis, just as you changed from human/goblin and to elf..
I totally agree with you in those things. I also think that int and wis is very useless for a fighter.
I just don't like the timing, because it kind of make a mockery of the issue. It looks like you just want more power for yourself, instead of actually want to even things out for everyone.
