I'll also be honest. When I saw this posted I imagined a stable full of enslaved elven females being forced to reproduce offspring for the Mordor armies.

I honestly do. I only played WoW for the first beta week, and I have never played or seen the game in action since, nor do I know anyone who plays. And there were no pets in the beta...

It works like that there? A happiness variable is not something unique though, its a common thing for many games.

Either way, if it works there and is fun, why not "borrow" the idea.

Idea is great
some inputs:

1. pets must be fed. So food supplies for pets can be made money burner.
2a. Pets can have short taming process. then they should not save their progress over boots.
In this case power of tamed animal would depend on guild status of breed.
2b. pets can have very long taming process. then they should save their progress over boots.
In this case after advancing to new guild level, Breed will have dilemma to stay with current animal or look for new more powerful one. Which is good :)
3. Guild stat or regular stats shouldn't be a factor in taming or breed specials. I think more about amount of animals you tamed to maximum level or something like that. (Progress in guild shouldn't be XP grinding, but something more interesting)
4. Animals stats should be taken into acount when taming and animal combat.

Idea is great, but I don't believe in fairy tales. It never will be implemented (counts for draco idea too)
