To say something good about Skyrim I do really like the "mood" of the place. The environment really feels alive with the changing weather, wildlife, etc, and I think the music is really nice too. It kind of saves the shortcomings I mentioned before atleast a little bit. And the global story and detailed backstory I like too, its just how its delivered by the NPCs that I feel could have been much better.

Edit: Funny how out-of-game things are more interesting than the actual game itself (I've uninstalled Skyrim after about 3 hours of playing it, never to touch it again, and before you ask: Yes, I admit that I'm a Morrowind junkie).
