If anything I would prefer something that notifies me of mail while in game a bit better. I missed the notice all the time
I used to miss mails all the time to and made a suggestion for a system to be notified about it, but then a wizard told me "why dont you use the v mail command?".
Its not new, but I had never heard of it or used it, and I dont think many know about it?
"v mail" will always tell you if you have mail or not. Just make an alias or trigger to do it once in awhile, or trigger it to everytime you type "who" or, stats or v or something you type often.
It would be very nice to have it included in the regular "v" command though I think.

Idea: Necromancers turn into Spiritmasters when going neutral+ with different set of titles & emotes (like Archers or Wild Elves now) + slightly altered skill-looks (i.e. spirit instead of skeleton)

I take the lack of wizards' feedback on this idea as a "no"? Or is this just the casual inactivity that can be currently observed both among wizards and players alike? I'm not asking for a Ranger recode here, just a really slight change ...
Interesting moment today in the morning btw.: 12 ppl online - 6 mortal chars + 6 wizards (out of which 2 on incognito mode)

Did we already turn Gen into Demons' Gate or even Igor, with more wizards around than mortals?

Why did minstrels of dark song disappear?
Think that is why you will not get a goode necro.
The minstrels, Valar etc already fill the role.
And Spirit Circle are the natural enemies, plus monks too.
I think the weaponmasters versus blademasters is a stronger case, but we not seeing any movement on that.
But thats fine with me, generic guilds without much tie to anything but extra combat dmg here are boring imo.

Laurel: If you want your ideas more noticed I suggest you write down a full detailed description of your idea and use the "idea" command in the game. I always got a reply when I have used it atleast.
I personally dont think there is anything wrong with the idea at allf, allthough I kinda like that there are different guilds rather than good/evil versions of the same. But as usual its about getting a wizard interested and wanting/have time/skills to code it. Thats the hard part with ideas.

wrong example - minstrels can be evil again, tho with the same titles and stuff

Touche.
There is another factor to consider.
The wizard who's baby the necros were left after their nerfs and never fully realized his original concept with the rune crafters that were to follow. Perhaps wizard etiquette would leave others reluctant to come along now and change from his vision.
I also think asking for the same thing but different isn't going to inspire many people.
Rather what are ur goals for the new guild?
What characters would benefit from having that aspect to their roleplay?
What hole exists that it would fill?
(Maybe realising the rune crafters would be higher on the list? Even tho imbuements is doing a similar function now.)
If one of the goals is to give the necros a new well balanced natural enemy who will fight each other on sight. Then yeah thumbs up from me.

You need to find a wizard who is interested and capable and who understands the theme of the guild.
For the Necros I doubt that will happen, but who knows.

Going back to the idea at the beginning -- there is a drink in the realms that reduces your state of sobreity. And while I haven't thoroughly investigated it, I'm led to believe its a pretty minor in its effect.

Re: Teaming
There are two issues to solve: discovery (who wants to team), and contact. While I agree the game has some thematic and relatively rich ways to communicate, the ability to find people who want to team now is what is lacking. I think running inn to inn looking for teammates could be burdensome. Unless a specific inn becomes the teaming place to go by convention, it could be problematic to run between them. A specific inn could be attractive as a locus for player interaction, but this would include the conflicts and tensions (for better or worse) unless different Inns had different groups (goodies go to Bree, Baddies to MM, etc).
I do think that sitting around in an inn waiting for player(s) could be boring though.
Maybe a compromise could be reached.
Make your desire to team a notification in an inn - like a poster on the wall, per login. If you logout, the poster is gone. You can also remove the poster at will once you have your full team.
Make the posters federated across all inns, so a potential teammate doesn't have to choose the right inn to find your poster.
You then can contact the player in game, via pigeons, mailbox, spell, etc. to get linked up.
My .02 cents,
-Cel
