Heh, Brienne... in the books they actually often call her just that: the Maid of Tarth.
But maybe "swordswoman" would sound a little more badass and less girly.

Jokes aside though, I think Swordmaiden is fine - Just like Shieldmaiden from Tolkien is perfectly "fantasy badass".

Actually, I also like swordmaiden.
I think that in RL the "maiden" bit (also in shieldmaiden) refers to the fact that the woman is not married (and thus independent) rather than to the person being a young girl.
But maybe it should change to "swordcrone" when you hit myth. (just kidding)

It all depends on how you interpret the title. The old "mistress" suffix could also relate to the "lover" or "concubine". I've decided for Swordmaiden instead of Swordswoman because the latter seemed a bit too crude.
