Fun to see hypocrisy being posted.

Ilrahil and Cassius attacked her, there was no war.
Aizorana and Nemi attacked me, there is a war.

As for bravery, I'm smart enough to retreat when I'm not prepared for combat. Would any posting here do different? Nemi ran from combat and I see no one belittling her "bravery." We would all agree survival is paramount.

The meeting in Sparkle is an interesting topic. I did sling insults, I didn't apologize, and I did what was expected as a General of the Blue. What is not being shared is Nemi was similarly abusive in her demands for what I should do. I'm never going to take orders from a ranger, certainly not by one who garners such little respect throughout the realms.

Hate me if you will. Like Generals before me I only cherish the respect given to me by my allies, soldiers, and officers. None of the blue are scared of any ranger. I did destroy my torque because it was an advantage to my enemy. I do venture out of sanction when I'm not dealing with wizards or internal guild issues. Anyone who knows me knows I have left middle earth to its own devices. I look forward to returning to that state of mind.

Until then, rangers will be attacked on sight. Our spies in your ranks will continue to feed us intelligence. If you want this to end, ask your captain to do it.

Aren't you jumping a bit fast, boy?
Before this Ilrahil and Cassius had murdered Tibor.
Before this you had stated that you wanted to reward Ilrahil for his actions.
Before this you had threathened with war.
At this meeting, you weren't interested in any form of peace, you wanted us to bow to your twisted will and hand over superior weapons to the BDA for the "bad things we had done" as well as a new club for Cassius. You KNEW this was never gonna happen, either that or the BDA got a really dumb leader.

Well, guess what, now you have it. You have a war, and since it started, you were out actively hunting until Irahil died, then nada.

Yeah, I ran from two LEGENDS and a MYTH, you ran from a medium legend and a HERO.
I also ran from two legends in Terel, who later, in the same timespan STUNNED ME, stated that "HE IS STUNNED" (which is amusing, since Nemi is female) and ran off, their pentragram portal was still at the Cornerstone when I got there after stun ran out. So in that case, I ran first, then two legends, after your logic fled from me. Impressive

You were offered an apology, in return for condemning the actions of a known warmonger, who proved the point of his "excelence" by rage-quitting after his death. But nah, you wanted the war. obviously, for THAT was way to much for you.

You demand return of weapons your soldier left behind on the Holm, where no normal rules apply, but you never offered to have the items from Tibor returned. Avarel's death happened after this, so I'm not bringing that up at all in this, except for the exceptional bravery the BDA are showing by hunting with two or three legends+ and still only killing experts and veterans. Funny how the attack anyone thing backfired on Ilrahil, isn't it?

I don't hate you, you're not worth that much, you're just too pathetic. If noone at the Blue are scared of rangers, why do they run so fast? Even a single ranger smaller than the BDA in question make the BDA run like a baby to the first saferoom and hides behind a skirt.

We'd love this to end, you just have to cave. Our younger rangers have been given their orders, I hope you enjoy the torture.


Nemi

After Tibor died, there was no war. The war began when you and Aizorana attacked me.

The conflicts before that attack could have been solved, but you refused to negotiate. You are in dire need of a teacher to show you some patience and the charisma to discuss global matters without losing your temper so quickly. Again, I retreated because I wasn't prepared for combat and there is no way I could know how big Aizorana was. At this point, survival is paramount and everyone would agree with me.

I'm perfectly fine having a war. Send your young rangers and we'll see what happens. I can assure you that Krewl's absence is not due to fear. If you think it is I'm sure he'll be more than happy to prove you wrong. Not that I have to explain myself, but I continue to grind with no interruption. I haven't seen a ranger anywhere to close where I patrol.

O.O.C- I was really looking forward to role playing some hard negotiations and figuring it all out. I thought about how Ariakas or Merinsaard would act in this situation and it never got past the posturing expected between Good and Evil. I don't see either of them apologizing for a soldier, so neither would I. They would probably tell you to deal with the conflict on your own with the people involved. Kudos to Hektor for taking the lead when we almost went to war with the Calians. I spent hours thinking up replies to his letters. This situation is different and the BDA will roll with the conflict. I disagree that good leadership is apologizing for the actions of those we command. I think there needs to be more role play and more interaction. I would love to see some creative ways to insult the known enemies for your guild.

Role play and immersion will be much better for this game and hopefully this war will bring both out for all involved.

You essentually established yourself as a terrorist. and good aligned soldiers typically do not negotiate with terrorists. and the reason this ended up on forums is because bromen/carmelo felt the need to share this drama with everyone on a generally ooc forum Thanks for that carmelo))

We were just asking (to my understanding)that you do not attack those far below your level of combat. and to return stuff to tibor. you gladly returned stuff to avarel. apologies were demanded on both sides. If attacks were limited to nemi, aizorana and other high level rangers or of the small ones were just chased around or (rp) menaced. Then we really would not have had an issue.

While I personally would not have been as quick to attack. I can understand why they felt the need to do so. But still note our aggession have not been on your low level allies. it has been only on the people involved and leadership. and the deaths you suffered were not by us.

I would also like to note once again there are TWO branches of the rangers. ( if there had been only one this may have been simpler) the two young rangers were both in northern company. and we have our own council.
we have no control over who leads roi. while we did help nemi after our rangers were murdered. That was because you were thretening our guild specifically. and established your side as a terrorist.

This whole thing has been way to onesided to be a war.

Took a few posts to get to that. Still a bit strange. Is this forum going to be the new realm "board" where we all come to roleplay? Seems like having this on the board in sparkle would be another reason for people to congregate and read about the news.

Alright, if this is an OOC board then I will start posting here as such.

If the deaths of the two Rangers are from the North, then why was Nemi acting like it was someone from her branch under her command? She has told me Tibor has no plans to return, so there is no equipment to return to him. Role play wise, of course I would demand things beyond what was minimally needed because that's what evil, stubborn, smart ass Generals do. Like any negotiation, you demand something that you know the other side would never give and work your way to middle ground. In fantasy literature, how many times does the hero play to the weaknesses of the villain? How many times does the villain go back on his word? Instead of a public apology for my soldier, what other avenues could be explored so war would be avoided? The absolute last thing I expected was to be attacked, hence the lack of great armours, sobriety, and pvp items.

I would like to hear about why no one from the RoN leadership reached out to me after Tibor died. The second RoN's death was an accident. Avarel wasn't being hunted, but came back into the room he wimpied from and literally ran under a falling sword.

In any case, I'll take my in character posts to the Sparkle board from now on.

Whether you post in character or out of character here is entirely up to you.

As for talking about game related events on forums outside the game that's hardly something new. Back in the old days people created whole web pages created just to keep track of wars, deaths etc. And we had other forums, chats, etc, before this forum was created. I'd say It would be more strange if there was an ongoing conflict in the game and nobody mentioned it here.

I would like to mention that:

1. Talking about ingame events here is a great idea - it brings about attention, drama and entertainment. The game and the players thrive. I second Chereks observations with the old pages and what good it did. I remember sitting at business school some 18 years ago excited to read whatever propaganda Deprolius could spawn on the AA page

2. There is nothing wrong with posting in character here. Just do not expect in-game response or this to be in-game knowledge for me . In other words if Lars was to post as Hektors son Creed on this board - I, Thomas, would read it and be amused, but I would not let Hektor have the knowledge or use the information in the game. Also be aware that some people see it otherwise and will mix both characters and players views here and in game. In other words, Carmelo - feel free to use this board as you see fit vis a vis RP/not RP in my book.

3.I always find Carmelo in character postings here a riot. There is a massive difference in how Bromen views the world vis a vis how Carmelo views the world. It is very clear and very well roleplayed. Bromen has done an excellent job reviving BDA (though some of the exorbant titles at times make me think there is a reason why players should not be allowed to have free titles ).

4. As for the war - MORE.. MORE

I thought there were rules about abuse of the torque?

I'm not trying to advocate one way or another.

Like I said, interesting stuff here. Please continue to RP on this forum if you like. I was merely pointing out that this type of drama is something that would certainly draw people to common spots which could be fun.
