Re: Cadu Forest
I disagree that quests are awesome if they can't have a walk through written for them. This quest is an example of that logic taken to the most extreme possible, and just as you said for scant reward.
To me quests are awesome if you do something cool in them and get a cool reward. I like quests you don't need a walk through for, but I refuse to thwart players to this extreme.

True, "You have received insignificant quest experience since you last logged in."Zhar wrote:It's not retarded. Sadly, the reward doesn't reflect that.
Still, I feel proud. It was difficult, but I didn't give up, and even though it didn't pay off in qexp, it did pay off emotionally. I will sleep like a baby tonight.
Re: Cadu Forest
Yup, that quest is one of the hardest quests we have, especially since there's not many solutions for it floating around. And even if you know how to do it, it still takes quite some time and a lot of thinking to get it done. If we some day do change the way quests work and reward I'd put that one high up on the "big rewards" list.Aristos wrote:True, "You have received insignificant quest experience since you last logged in."Zhar wrote:It's not retarded. Re: Cadu Forest
It is one of our best "puzzle" quests in the game, and one of our worst "story" quests in the game.
I actually love it. I have my own map around somewhere for it that I made back in 1994.

Re: Cadu Forest
I love this quest.
It is good puzzle quest. Take time, effort and thinking to win it.
The story is not strong and what is annoying Noigo is one of masters for mercenaries so it makes this quest an obstacle for mercenaries.

I made him part of the Mercenary guru quest exactly because I love him so much. Hey! Don't want to do it? Live with -1 to your potential adaptability! Muahahaha!

Must be a very evil wizard who can come up with such idea.
Re: Cadu Forest
At least it's on record that as the GM you wanted to screw your mortals.gorboth wrote:I made him part of the Mercenary guru quest exactly because I love him so much. Hey! Don't want to do it? Live with -1 to your potential adaptability! Muahahaha!

Hey, it's not "screwing mortals over" to use Nogio! I've done that maze several times with several characters, it's fun!
Flee you fools!
