Weak moral authority - guilty
Whining is greatest weapon and so mainstream...I could not resist
I do what I can to refrain myself from whining. I try to share my point of view and give some logic arguments to support it.
But it is sooooo tempting

I believe they had infravision moreso over darkvision.
The Krynn elvish racial guild offers this now where you can see the outline of things.
But that's another flaw in Genesis and darkness I'd love to see fixed. The difference between darkvision and infravision, and the difference between magical darkness/magical light/light/and darkness.

Had no idea there was a difference between darkvision and infravision.
I guess infravision is like one of the Predator's modes huh? Thermal?
In practice does it have any difference in effect? Can't see colours but can still kill and fight as if daylight?

Infravision means that you can make out heat signatures. So shapes and general idea, like the predator. It is nothing like seeing clearly. Darkvision is more along the lines of the Cat's Eye in Drizzt where you can see as though there is starlight illuminating the area (like you see things as if it were day time).

gIn Gateway dwarves also have infravision. You could only see how many alive beings were in the room, and distinguish the exits.
In Genesis terms, we could add randomness to the exits you can see, appraise the number of living beings, but undeads would not be seen.
Code: Select all
A dark room.
There are apparently two exits: north and south.
Three living beings.

Actually.. the drow infravision was way more detailed then that.
As in being able to identify races and even different people.

I assume undeads wont show up on thermal vision then (or should not).

You could extend that a bit, like "Three large living beings, one medium-sized living being, and two short living beings." It is up to you to interpret the shapes.
