Re: Limited Items.
If you are afraid someone will steal your loot just drop it in a secure location.
someplace none know about, are some that most old players forgot about and
the new players never really got around to find. I got at least 4 spots I can leave items
at and never have anything been missing.

Re: Limited Items.
Sorry I highly disagree, the racks are for everyones use and one person ruining it deserves to be thrown to the dogs if they choose to abuse what they did not work to get. That information should be available for anyone within that guild to look at. I don't see how protecting and encouraging assholes is a good idea.cotillion wrote:Players should not have information about what happened when noone was around to see it.
That's considered wizard like knowledge and should not be given to players.

If you truly believe that, you have alot of code to delete.
There are tons of instances in the game that registers information when no player is around, which the players can then later request access to.
From your short, seemingly nonsensical replies, I have to ask. Are you being deliberately controversial, just because...? Or do you actually think rack looting is a non-existing problem, and do you want to carry out your above statement all over the game and start deleting code that violates the statement?
I truly hope not, but coming from a high ranking wizard, perhaps I'm dead wrong.

Well, there are lots of instances where things happen and "no one" was around to see it.
What about being added to rangers enemy list for attacking inside MT. Or what about the logs that tell the MM who attacked the Nazgul so that they can hunt that person down. In the Secret Society the racks keep track of everything borrowed and returned and if something is not anyone can see that it was taken and by who.
In a game designed around fantasy novels it is not a far stretch to have a magical scroll that copies down the identity of the person and what they took when it is take, and erases it when it is returned. This doesn't sound like Wiz info to me.
I mean we are getting bogged down in what's "possible" but this game is not about what is possible it's about what is imagined.

Well that is the perfect example of what I mean are destroying the guild racks, and selfishness.OgreToyBoy wrote:If you are afraid someone will steal your loot just drop it in a secure location.

Perhaps you can tell me/us what it is going to take for you to not make your own hard to find drop "rooms" and start sharing equipment with your fellow guild members?
Not to be to hard on you, just would be intresting to hear.
Re: Limited Items.

Re: Limited Items.
Feel free to elaborate on what you would do to someone a log says is looting the rack.
This is an issue which has to be solved by the AoP, there is no advantage to more player accessible logs for racks.
Now I'm not saying we've always done our best at tracking down looters but we are in a much better position to do it than any council could ever be. And there are guilds without councils.

Re: Limited Items.
You dont play the game Cotillion.. Walk a mile in a players shoes and then speak.. Until then.. Dont even bother trying to be an authority on the functions of racklogs..
With a racklog you actually EXPOSE seconds which loot racks for their mains(Yes it has happened more times then you would think).
And that "threat" alone is enough to prevent alot of the racklooters in doing their crime..
You know, word travels swiftly around in the donut.. what one person exposes, all will know within a few days.
You dont only help your own guild by doing this but you in fact help other guilds with exposing said lowlifes so they know whom NOT to permit into their guilds.
And then there are also the fact that the AoP really couldnt be bothered with this, since you have more important things to do then run after the guys second who stole a trinket from a rack to give it to his main character..
