Re: Looking a gift horse in the mouth

What bugs me the most is the restoration. Like I said, I think the change is a bad one, but thats one thing. Restoring someone who was killed according to the rules, fair and square, is to me a really bad move.
Like Gorboth said himself the "give" tactics has been around for ages. Everyone who ever died due to them being given something should now be restored?
No really, the moss was coded like that, and the game too. It was not a _bug_. Sure they can change it to keep it from happening again, but restoring someone who died from something that was coded to work like that and always has been... no. Boooo.
Tons of people have died from being given stuff in the past. Now all of a sudden someone is restored.
And I dont know why you should not be allowed to kill anyone for botting? Who said that? Thats in the rules? The rules say you can kill anyone for anything as you please. No reasons whatsoever. So if you feel like killing someone because they are botting, idling or simply because you dont like their hair color, go ahead. Someone was killed because someone else did not like them idling, or because someone just didnt like them... for whatever reason it was a perfectly fair kill, and had never happened had the person not been idle.
Are we suddenly restoring all people who die when idle?
But well, its like I have always been saying. I think we need super clear rules, not case to case judgements by one person. Same for everyone. The case by case policy just causes problems and mistrust and has always done so, and is ultimately bad for the community as a whole. And also causes alot of work for the AoP.
I honestly think we should just have a list of preset rules and then use them. In all cases. Then you can just point at the rules and say "Look this is how it is". No more case to case...
In this case I think the rule should be:
No players will be restored from deaths.
It is the most fair. Of course you can be extremely unlucky and actually die from a real bug, but well... thats unlucky. Hopefully your death means the bug will fixed atleast. And honestly, how often does someone actually die from a bug?
