Unmaxxed Nazzie... REMOVE HIS RING!

So bad
Oh wait, I already had maxed the adv.guild skills.
Yeah I know, I suck at joking.

I can assure you I take a good bit of damage with MBP and 2 tower shields. As you can imagine my defensive fighting skills are not very good

We have defensive skills? Damn, I must hurry and train them.

Guess I hit a nerve there, but I meant ANY character really shouldn't be able to do anything apart from maybe singing if using two tower shields.

Thematically, I don't disagree really. Let's see what or if the immortals plan something about this in some near or distant future.

Well, if we take Tolkein's description of the nazgul
their chief weapon was terror. This was actually greater when they were unclad and invisible; and it was greater also when they were gathered together. (Unfinished tales, p. 343)
Then maybe Nazgul should be more powerful when they do not wear armours? And when they are invisible. How bout that? Then as they wear armour they get weaker.

In gameterms, the fewer armourpieces with imbues and such makes the mage actually more powerful, and particulary if the mage is invisible, trading ingame itemization for more local/internal power?
How would players react when being slain by even more powerful and invisible mages than the current model? *tease*

I think you're spot on thematically Windemere. It does pose some interesting options/issues.
1) Would wearing no armour (being less encumbered) create some advantages (being faster or more able to evade blows in fights?)?
2) Would this mean some kind of innate AC (I suspect would cause some issues)?
3) Armour is a source of imbues/buffs/resistances so this would become a definite disadvantage
4) Should the terror dimension really be something different than AC? Stun/slow/reduced damage with checks against dis?
I think this idea has potential (that would be applicable to all spellcasters likely) but would be a lot of work to balance in all directions. I would love to not wear any armour - its just not practical. The damage one takes already with the best stuff is appreciable. The time spent standing around waiting on health and mana is already a huge pain in the rear.

I think we should wear some armour for thematical purposes like the nazgul armour in the movies. Though, it could be purely cosmetical.
Balancing the non-effective armour in terms of advantages/disadvantages may not necessarily be a trivial matter with all the imbues introduced to the game (lest imbues would work on the cosmetical armour-pieces), then some way to compensate (could be entirely magical) for the ac-loss may also be necessary.
In this game, everyone needs some form to mitigate damage in order to actually grind and grow.

I think MM players should not post about MM power/usability/spells/perks/etc. - your opinions are even more biased than the rest of us' ;p

One thought from someone who's long gone and probably you think their opinion doesn't matter.
A guild can be as powerful as it likes, up to the point they make a mockery of PVP. (Who cares about PVE, if it's not effecting you so why should you care.) Give a guild any power it likes, but once that guild starts abusing that power to the direct detriment of the playerbase and the guild leaders refuse to police the matter, the wizards have a duty to step in. One of the biggest things that plagued Genesis wasn't a power a guild was given, it was the abuse of that power and the unwillingness to fix things afterwards.

Which is exactly why the argument needs input from people who actually know what they're talking about versus the speculative drivel of people who are biased in the other direction.
