Arcon: I mean MMs are an exception in Genesis as it's one of the few, maybe the only, guild that has managed to withhold high RP standards and very strict rules for a very long period of time. Most others guild have not, they changed very much over the years based on their members. Vampires perhaps the best example on where this system failed. I will always think its a very dangerous way to balance things. But some of you think otherwise and well, thats ok.:)

I also strongly believe the successful games are generally both well-balanced and fair for all players.

Windemere: I think all your suggestions on PVP are good ones. Personally I think I am more for the ones where everyone gets similar, but different, PVP abilities that are balanced against each other

PVP arenas and of/off switches etc all feel so not-Genesis, but I would not mind being proven wrong about it. I think a main key for Genesis to gain a larger playerbase is to get politics, guild interaction and PVP going again. So I am for whatever works to make that happen.

Like, for example two factions of mercenaries, then with only different text on the combat special for each faction?

I couldn't agree more. Part on Genesis is the adventure of knowing that there is always a risk of being attacked by an enemy or just some psycho on a killing spree. You never know what happen.

The problem is the huge differences in size between the players, much more than pvp abilities. If a hero nazgul(I use mages as example) gets attacked by a myth glad the nazgul will die. And if the hero is a glad or merc (s)he will not be able to get even.

This is how it's now, more or less. I think a hero nazgul would be destroyed by any melee of big titan/champ++.

This thread is a result of a smaller player being slain by the witchking, but it's important to add that the smaller player (compared to the King) did in fact inflict massive damage despite the huge gap in size difference.

If both players were at about the same size, the fight would probably have been more even.

Yep. Let's not talk about a huge player being killed twice within a few days by MM's for bollocks reasons ;p
Please let's also not discuss any elitist or RP aspects of MM - they are history.

A severly outgunned player in a trapped location usually tends to loose the fight, and particulary when the player is a bot/afk/scripting.

Especially if hes on that script so often you can barely call it a player

Also "within a few days" is an outright lie.
Then again.. Laurel tends to bed the truth, twist words and flat out lie when it serves his purpose.

What if, say you are a member of X guild, and you disagree with some of the posts written by the leaders of X guild or even Wizards?
Or that you know some things mentioned in a thread is wrong or twisting the truth, but you can't refute it, because that would revealing guild-secrets for instance?
What do you do then?

These forums are often filled with half-truths and spin, but because of the nature of what is allowed to revealed here, and the issue of posting here will have in-game consequences, it's no wonder discussions here are often so opaque.
It's like everyone is talking about something, that nobody is allowed to mention, and then it's bound to be less than fruitful debates, plus the worst thing is that lies, half-truths and spin are often allowed to thrive in such an environment.
