Like, for example two factions of mercenaries, then with only different text on the combat special for each faction?
Uh. Was that what I said? Really? Come on now. Please keep a serious discussion...?
I made a ton of suggestions of very different PVP abilities earlier in this thread. Scroll back if you're interested. If we can manage to create a whole lof of different abilities for guilds in general, why do you think it would be impossible to have different types of PVP abilities?
Do you think it's a bad idea to give more guilds PVP abilities? If so, why?

The problem is the huge differences in size between the players, much more than pvp abilities. If a hero nazgul(I use mages as example) gets attacked by a myth glad the nazgul will die. And if the hero is a glad or merc (s)he will not be able to get even.
This is how it's now, more or less. I think a hero nazgul would be destroyed by any melee of big titan/champ++.
This thread is a result of a smaller player being slain by the witchking, but it's important to add that the smaller player (compared to the King) did in fact inflict massive damage despite the huge gap in size difference.
If both players were at about the same size, the fight would probably have been more even.
Kas... come on. It's obviously much easier to slay someone if you have abilities designed to kill players. In your example, even if the mage loses the fight he will just press a button and speedwalk to safety. Which is what Ilrahil would have done too... if he had been able to.
There is a great imbalance in PVP abilities between guilds. Anyone saying different is either very ignorant or simply lying. That's not speculation. That's fact.
The question is if this is something that is designed to be that way, or if is a flaw in the game, and if so, what is the best way to make PVP more even and fun for everyone.
Neither Petros or Gorboth has replied to this question, so we dont really know if its by design or not.

Arcon:
Mages keeping up a higher standard?
"You again? Killing my orcs?" "Rebel peck, come to Ithilien and I will kill you" "To scared to go to Ithilien, Rebel Peck?" Reward winning roleplaying? Maybe.
Who would judge RP if it was a part of powerformula? Even though I'm not that impressed by the above, maybe Kiara is? What is good RP?
Keep balance to numbers.

If that is true then it is sad how low they they've fallen. I was using the mages as example, I don't have much experience interacting with them.

Just to clarify, I am not "against mages" in general. Not at all. But when we're talking guild power and PVP abilities its hard not to use mages as your example. For obvious reasons. But I of course think ALL guilds should be balanced both in power and PVP, no matter if its mages, ogres, kenders or calians, and no matter how they chose to RP, or whatever rules the guild has.
Chanele summed it up nicely - Keep balance to numbers.

It's worse.
I'm really bad with english but what does bedding something mean? Putting to sleep?
For every kill of the MM there are enough excuses it seems. Sounds familiar and pathetic because it's all there is - excuses not reasons.

how come being skilled with the magic you are attacked with, you don't know how to resist it?

You mean that your skill in death magic would help you resist spells from death magic? It make sense, if you are used to a type of magic you should be able to defend against it automatically.

I should disagree. Knowledge about fire doesn't make your skin fire resistant, Fireball still hurts.

Although it will give good base for spell resistance. like everyone will have 20% resistance if they maxxed spell skills.
