Genesis Forums

This topic is to compile a list of mud list websites and voting. That way we can go in and make sure that they have updated information.. and can get some of us active of each of the forums to try to draw new people. Or... possibly post banner ads if we think its a frequently accessed spot.

I'll start off the list and you can either post or PM me with additionals and I'll continue to edit the list so it stays in the top section.

The purpose of this topic is to collect websites that list muds... in order to find places to advertise Genesis.

I thought that was clear.. but no one has contacted me with names of websites other than the above.

I had to clean a few posts from this thread that were not needed.

Tonight I contacted the sites that Kitriana has listed, along with one other that I know of:

I asked all of these sites for access to allow the Genesis Admin to update the old information on these sites. Fortunately, all of the mudconnection sites I have found that have a Genesis entry do correctly reference the Genesis webpage.

What players can do is vote vote vote on these sites daily to raise our rank and profile for people searching for new muds to play.

I tried these links, but once getting there, I had no idea how to actually vote.
To make it more friendly for us who want to vote, how about trying to fix the links so they get you to the voting directly, like this?

I really hate having to search to figure out what to do to get where I want, through all commercial and crap, so I tried to make it easy, having the link to each site's Base, Genesis page, Ranking list and VOTE link, plus a link to creating an account, if that's needed.
But I have two question marks:

MostPopularSites: How do you vote? I created an account, so I could add my rating for Genesis. Is that it? Do I add my rating once a day? Or is it one-time only? Is this my vote or is there something I've missed?

Mudseek: This looks just like someone made a link to google and wrote "MUDseek" on top. Ok, it seems to filter away non-mud hits, but other than that, what's the point?
Can we actually do anything here, like vote or something?

Thanks for your great suggsestions ... i'm really an amatuer.. just trying to help. We can cut that mudseek off the list. some of the new ones I added above.. we can't vote yet.. cuz we're not in there database. Some of them I added because I think they have forums that we could participate in and draw people that way. I'll try to streamline it a bit when i have some time and not jetlagged. Or if you can help me.. that would be great

(you probably have to register yourself to be able to do it)

This just gives a possibility to rate Genesis, and you can only do it once... ever!
We have an average rating of 4.69 out of 5, with 164 votes. The four above us have ratings slightly above _and_ below us, so this rating doesn't seem to be the only thing that is used. They have hits-IN/OUT, but I have no idea how it works. Anyone know?
The ones above us have very few voters, so they all suddenly dropped a bit in rating . No idea if this helps, though.

For the sites we need to be added to, please tell us once we've been added, so we can fix vote links for those too.

And if my memory doesn't fail me totally, we were on place 1200 or so on Mud Connector before this drive started. And now we're on place 153 (2:nd page, with 3 votes). 19 more votes and we'll get on top-100 (first page).
On Top Mud Sites we started at place 100, and now we're on place 33 (2:nd page here too)
And on MostPopularSites we're on place 5, and have been for some time, I think.
