Hello all!

Now that Easter has come and gone, I finally have had time to get back to
my computer and see what is going on again (busiest few weeks of the year
for me around Holy Week!)

In keeping with the momentum we want to maintain for our Anniversary
preparations, here is a recap of how we've done in March, and where things
sit as we look toward our goals. To begin, here's a peek at what we had
down for goals in March:

February--2013-----------------------------------------------------------
    - Organization, planning, coordination, commitment established
    - Work Goal: Finish magic occ guild recodes by end of May 2013.
    - Work Goal: New robust version of client ready by end of December 2013.
March-----2013-----------------------------------------------------------

Basically, March's goals were simply to continue working toward completion
of the goals established in February. So lets look at what has happened
in March both in terms of those goals and also any other development
activity that we can recall:

In March:

    Teambuilding for the Anniversary:
     - The teams built in February came together well, specifically those
dealing with the magic guild recodes, all of whom have done a lot
of work to get things moving and on track.
     - A few old wizards have resurfaced potentially with interest to
       reconnect to coding.

    Game improvements:
     - Herbs and potions were converted to heaps, drastically reducing the
wretched login experience for players carrying many such items.
     - Hardware stability for the Gizmo re-established following the
unexpected crashes and downtime. Technically this happened in
April, but we'll count it. (THANK YOU LUNATARI!)
     - New threads woven for the fabric of reality (translation:
Mercade added some nice new code options for wizards.)

    Game client design work:
     - GMCP proven stable, and taken on my numerous player modders.
     - Two or three different unofficial game clients developed by
members of the player community who used the official forum to
share, discuss, and improve upon one another's work. (check
       it out, people!)

    Progress on Guild Recode work:
     - The Morgul Mages alpha was a success, testing their new spells
and abilities. Work has nearly concluded on the final work that
will lead to beta testing and full-scale live recode.
     - The Elemental Worshippers also did an alpha run of their new
spells and realities. This will transition eventually to work
on the occupational Elementalists and the newly recoded EW
       live state.
     - Much work has been done with PoT. Their essentials have been
recoded with regard to their basic realities and their standing
in the guild. Conversion of the spells has begun, and will be
brought to the new magic system more quickly once the format
for doing so has been established.

    Fun stuff!
     - The Event Team launched the much beloved egg-shard collecting
event for the season. Hee hee!

So, we continue to be well on our way. The crashes were a bit of a
horrible annoyance, naturally. But we've been able to get things shored
up again thanks to Lunatari's RL efforts on-site. On a positive note,
this has helped us to identify some issues with regard to our hosting
needs, and given us some things to think about for the future.

Finally, now that we are in April, we are officially ONE YEAR away from
our 25th Anniversary! Today we can celebrate our 24th anniversary (go
buy yourself a drink at the Sparkle Pub) and look forward to doing things
properly one year from now.

I can't wait, can you?
