Hello all, and Merry Christmas (nearly!)

I wanted to do two things with this post. Firstly, I want to announce that as
is often the case, I will be heading out of town for a period of about two
weeks beginning on Christmas Day. As such, I'll probably not have access or any
real way to be part of things here between Dec. 25th and Jan. 4th. In that
time, please address any concerns you have to Admin other than myself, or wait
until I return.

Also, Death is furious about this, but I've told him that until I get back
we'll have to keep things as they are with regards to his exp penalty. Once
I return, the Admin will have a chance to discuss the situation and see how
we'd like to move forward in a way we feel is best for the game. But! Your
experiences and opinions are a vital part of this discussion, and I'd like to
encourage everyone to take part. I have created a poll on the official forum:

https://www.genesismud.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2557

I encourage everyone to visit this poll, cast a vote, and provide your
experiences and rationale as something we wizards (and the community of
players) can consider. For those of you who are hesitant to be a part of the
forum, I will also say that participation in the poll is completely anonymous
unless you choose to post your vote and rationale in the thread. Also, the
forum does allow you to create a forum-user name that is anonymous from your
in-game character name, if that is your concern, and you have yet to
participate in the forum. For those of you who simply do not want to use the
forum, you can certainly mail me your opinion on the matter here in-game.
The poll asks the question:

Should the game return to having some kind of exp-penalty when a character
dies?

So ... please participate either by using the forum or mailing me here,
in-game with your yes/no answer and rationale.

See you in 2014!
G.
