Lucius let me know today that there in fact *is* a way to check your progress
on the Zodiac quest. It is possible to touch the door to see what your past
progress has been on the quest. Sorry for the misinformation. Some players
had commented on this on the forum, too.

Evidently this change was introduced in 2009, so while I clearly maintain
my status as being woefully ignorant, this one at least is somewhat recent
as a reality. (Ha ... 5 years ...)
