"undercover newbie" every so iften a wizard makes a newbie character sees who is helpful and friendly
rewards people afterwards.
To increase social interaction those who are unfriendly, unhelpful and scary should be awarded as well.

It is a game changer. Will be interesting to see the effects it has on toplist.

and as for syrks post, I am sure the wizards will give people what they deserve.

Ok, we've all seen it :P
Rule change coming for the event at boot. Giving those who have fallen behind a chance. Fair enough, but I still believe those who now will fall behind as they are either small or just don't really have the time to be active enough, should get something.

Not saying you give them imbuement stones, but perhaps a title of "Turkey Lover of the Donut", as that is basically what they've been doing, while those who go the full event would be "Turkey Caregiver of the Donut" for example.

So here is a graph of the APH (average per hour) each day for the month of November. APH numbers include only mortals, and only if they are not linkdead. Suffice it to say ... we ended strong!

All records have been broken, and even the dour dwarf Mercade has been heard muttering in appreciation of such in-game attendance.

I don't really see the point of all this with everyone iddling. Before there was a chance that a person you messaged would respond, now everyone is online but a few awake. I guess this is a nice stimulus to start scripting. If you are connected then better that sitting on your ass all time it is to script some.
I do not belive people will 'play' more because they 'have' to be online all the time.

This event is not ment to really be helpful or productive
its ment soly to make people log in. its a test to see who reads the forums.
the second part of the test comes after arm when people are forced into the world

No, Syrk, generally I agree with you, having 50 idling players and 10 active ones isnt something we really want long term, but it's very interesting to actually see that we HAVE a community that could sport 70 players online at the same time. I can safely say I did not expect that, even if most are idle. It shows that there are more people than expected of the "old" playerbase who are interested enough to login, and as Snowrose said the next step is to make them interested enough to play more actively.

And if nothing else, it at least makes _me_ a little more motivated in working to see these kind of numbers again, without idlers. And motivated wizards is a good thing!:)

There appears to have been quite alot of combat experience handed out this armageddon also.
So not everyone is idling.
