Ok, call me stupid (I mean I've only played Genesis off and on since 1998) but I've never figured out what the Hunting and Tracking skills do. Any help?

Tracking makes your tracking better (obviously). It's also used to get to certain areas.

As of now there isn't much use for hunting outside some quests, but that's bound to change.

I guess tracking went out of favor when people started using all the fancy speedwalking scripts, automappers and what not. I believe it's still being used occasionally for its main intended purpose though (I know I use it from time to time with my mortal).

I'm too old school for all of that. I've never even been brave enough to try and automappers or scripts. I've always used just what came with the game.

Both skills do tie into ranger abilities but it may also be used in area navagation and quests

I use tracking alot.

Most fun with tracking was with merc dogs. Any chance such pets could be back in game?
