Tbh, make the differences equally huge, atm some races have more points in total.
EQually big minus to races as plusses in stats.

Re: Brainstorming: Dis
If we are discussing racial stats.
I'd say make both the bonuses and penalties alot milder.
Give all races equal points.

The views posted by me on this forum is not the views of the character Amberlee in-game.

Oh. So dwarves have had less points than others for 25 years?
Then I propose that we get a xp bonus compensation for all theese years.

Personally, I don't see the huge modifiers as a problem. The real problem lies in how unattractive it is to be a simple human. Supposedly the most versatile, but there is no real benefit in versatility within the current frame. How about keeping the races as is, but introduce a variant of classes.
Human, warrior-human and mage-human at character creation. Subject to change at death, same as any other race. Stat distro something like
100 100 100 100 100 100 vs 120 120 120 80 80 80 vs 80 80 80 120 120 120
Title would still say Name the guild, guild and guild, mortal level, male human

In seriousness the concepts we are discussing have a lot of similarities to what you and Amberlee have raised. Still a bit of discussions to be had though.

Yepp, but you're weird so people dont understand, so I need to translate : ]
Re: Brainstorming: Dis
Or we can just give everyone the same stats and let them choose where to put them so people can choose based on RP rather than stats what to play. IE: Gnomes are a huge part of Calia lore, they were fighters, not wimpy little shits that are second-rate mages.

WHOOOO!!!
Re: Brainstorming: Dis
No thanks. A large part of roleplay is accepting limitations. If you choose to play a goblin, you need to accept that goblins are not going to be as smart as other races, and roleplay within those limitations. You may feel like you want to be the smartest goblin wizard of all time - but that might just mean someone who is actually about as smart as a fairly dull elf.
Similar with a hobbit. Yeah, a hobbit might imagine themselves a FANTASTIC warrior. But a hobbit truly can only be so big and strong. No, they will never be equal to the strongest dwarf or goblin warrior, I don't care how they want to roleplay it.
So ... no.
