The tale of three brave souls.

Part 2, the Betrayal

The Hearty Trio of the Unfairly Treateds realized their vows about
never wearing boots and sought only barefoot harmony in order to
completely suppress the utter failure of their past travels. They
spent their free time training their young recruit Dix in the ways
of tranquil moisture appreciation. Dix showed much promise, his
youth was infectuous to the degree that Kanel started acting like
a teenage girl. There was harmony, romance and dew worship.

Meanwhile, in Schmalia..

The gust of wind, Lecter and the fiery humanoid, Sabretooth were
still raging. Even though they appeared unharmed, the attacks that
struck them left near fatal injuries and subsequent writing pain.
Dark thoughts of deceit and revenge were shared and discussed.
"If we could only enter their hideout in the Sunny Mountains as
they slept, we could simply drain them of their life force and
rejuvinate our wounds whilst enjoying our sweet, sweet justice.

A mouldy scent enshrouded the area as the elder, and out of
share nothingness, Mad Elise, appeared. Sharing not a single
word of pity, she was infatuated with retribution and malice,
and such tricks and manipulation of the very essence of the world
was her game. Having groomed a young boy Dix after snatching him
from his crib one fateful night in the city of Schmargos. Dix,
loyal to a fault, agreed to seek out the hideout in the Sunny
Mountains and gain the Trio's trust with his deviant and bashfull
youthfullness untill the opportune moment arose.

Back in the Sunny Mountains life went by at a comfortable snail's
pace. Dix excelled in Dew philosophy and Moisture Appreciation.
Smelling flowers and aiding all things living in the quest for
prosperity became second nature and soon whatever guard Pils,
Jazzius and Kanel had was oblitterated. Dix had successfully
inserted himself into the physical as well as the emotional plane
in the Sunny Mountains. Days turning into weeks, weeks turning
into months. Complete harmony achieved. Even Kanel dared to
provide Dix with peeks into her vulnerable and emotional sides.
Given enough time, passionate love would surely reveal its
amourous head, but alas...

Dix, deeply inserted, prolonged the charade for as long as
neccessary, never once forgetting his pledge to Mad Elise and
one fatal night he heard voices in the wind: "Prepare for our
arrival young protege, stay close to the Trio by any means
neccessary tonight. Welcome our arrival, or our magic will fail".
Dix preying on all of Kanel's weaknesses managed to persuade her
to let him sleep next to her under guise of dark dreams of late.

The large grandfather clock struck 3 o'clock at night with three
harmonious gongs and as the last gong sounded, four Schmalian
Favourites appeared suddenly, and without as much as a whisper.
Daggers were slowly drawn as the Favourites slowly approached the
sleeping quartet. At precisely the same moment, while daggers
pierced flesh an ominous glow filled the area. As Dix held
Kanel's hand, her agonizing face turned wrinkly, her hair grey.
Dix felt nothing but accomplishments and now looked forward to
enjoying Mad Elise's favour and return to his default state of
malignant existence, feeding off the raw power provided him and
his groomer by the Unfair Immortals.

Moral of the story: It takes but one unfaithful servant, or even
alt, to occupy the same space as a 'sleeping', defenceless target
to enable assassination through 'team teleport to player'.
Obviously, the approval of said player makes it a bit more
difficult by introducing a couple more steps to a devious plan, but
as I've tried to paint above, this scenario is absolutely
manifestable and I am truly worried that this ability has passed
the Arch of Balance's desk and recieved a stamp of approval. Not
to mention the utter, blatant, one-sidedness of the distribution
of 'I win'-buttons to one side of the alignment spectre.

Why nobody has voiced these concerns loudly before baffles me, but
it goes to show the favouritism towards one side is so cemented
into our very culture, we all just shrug it off and hope said
side only recruits naive and kind-hearted members into their club
of privilege.

It is not balance people. It's bias, favorism, privilege and
completely in conflict with the intended safety of guildhalls
and the very concept of balance.

Shame!
