The perks and disadvantages of undeath are taken into account in tax and combat aid caps for undead guilds. Just like the advantages and disadvantages of ogres are.

Yes, and when the advantages out-weigh the disadvantages then people are happy to have an extra percent or two slapped onto their guild-stat. Tax me an extra percent or two for not getting fatigued, no need for food, can't be blinded, can't be poisoned, see invisible, casting in darkness, etc etc. Where do I sign up ? Oh, I already know...

To be fair if there was an indisputably better option that made everything else worthless everyone would choose it. But we have healthy incentives to choose other races. Noldor/Red Fang with summons, humans for questing skills/no penalties, and the each of the small races for their niches. While we joke about only seeing goblins around there isn't a time I log in and don't see at least one of each race, besides a hobbit.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to see races become balanced but I don't see the differences as a life ruining thing unless you're a dwarf.
