Thanksgiving Event Details!

Denizens of the Donut,

Just after leaving the wizard's lounge today (enjoying the glow from my third
glass of cognac) I was confronted in the hallway by those idiots who woke
me from my nap the other day. Here they were again, talking over one another
in their rush to get me to understand their specifics. It was hard to make out
clearly much of what they were saying, but I kept getting bits about "past
atrocities", "high-time for a humane event", and "for the healing of the
donut." I really didn't know what they were talking about, and I said as much.

Finally, someone who seemed like a sort of leader quieted the rest of them and
handed me a tablet and told me to post it on the Common Board. He said that
doing so will BEGIN to make up for the history of abuse and violence that
has tainted the population of the Donut, and the world at large.

I still didn't really understand, but here's what he gave me ...

|                         =======================                           | |
| As sponsored by the Genesis Obtains Brotherhood By Loving Each Turkey | |
| (G.O.B.B.L.E.T.) initiative | |
| | |
| A growing sense of urgency has gripped the GOBBLET brotherhood in recent | |
| years as, time after time, we have been witness to these noblest of all | |
| birds' abuse in various "fun" events. With even our most ardent protests | |
| seeming to fall on deaf ears, we have decided to take action ourselves, | |
| setting up OUR idea of a worthy event around the time of the MOST ACCURSED| |
| festival of Thanksgiving. Lars himself has seen fit to bless our efforts, | |
| bestowing on our recent flock of hatchlings mystic wisdom which they will | |
| share with owners who can provide them with the love and care they crave | |
| and completely deserve. | |
| | |
| Here, therefore, are the details of the event: | |
| - The event will last two weeks (14 days) beginning on November 11th. | |
| - Each person may <adopt> one turkey to care for during that time. | |
| - Turkeys need constant care, and will grow in health and happiness | |
| the more they are nurtured with love and affection. | |
| - Lars has provided us with a spiritual connection to each turkey, | |
| such that we will know how healthy and happy each bird becomes. | |
| - Rankings of the top 10 health levels will be available here at the | |
| farm with the command <topcheck>. | |
| - As the event unfolds, more ways to care for your turkey will become | |
| available, but we start simply with love and affection. Keep your | |
| eyes open for updates as new options are added to maximize your | |
| status as a worthy caregiver! | |
| - The top three ranks will earn rewards for all members at the end | |
| of the event, granting equal awards to ties in a given rank. | |
| | |
| Rewards are as follows: | |
| - 1st place: 2 Glittering imbuement stones of your choice. | |
| - 2nd place: 2 Unblemished imbuement stones of your choice. | |
| - 3rd place: 2 Ordinary imbuement stones of your choice. | |
| - EVERYONE : Each time you make your bird happy enough to share its | |
| mystic wisdom with you, you will receive a small share | |
| of quest experience. Skilled caregives will be able | |
| to achieve this every ten to fifteen minutes, typically. | |
| | |
| Made possible by the Gobbleteers. (and YOU, their supporters!) | |
|___________________________________________________________________________|.'

Okay! So it looks like the event really is happening starting in about
twenty-four hours. Before they left, they told me that the farm has
been built right on the Village Green in Sparkle, and that it will be open
for business at the start of the event.

There you have it!
G.

p.s. A bit of Q&A on this event:

Q: Can I steal someone's turkey and have more than one?
A: No. Turkeys don't like that. No one does. Jerk.

Q: So is there any way for me to hide my turkey's rank from other people?
A: Apparently not. The Gobbleteers seem to value promoting the love and care
of turkeys more than they value competetive anonymity.

Q: So what if there are thirteen people tied for the top rank?
A: I guess I'll be awarding thirteen people two glittering stones of their
   choice.

Q: What are these other ways to care for your turkey that will be made
available? Is this just like the event all those years ago?
A: Maybe! Probably? I mean ... just ... let's all see what happens.

Q: Can you please be more specific about event start and end times?
A: Sure. The event will begin on the very first second of Saturday,
November 11th. For most Europeans, this will feel like midnight on
Friday the 10th. For west-coast Americans, it will feel like
3:00pm on Friday the 10th, and 6:00pm for east-coasters. So, be
aware of that specific detail! The event will end on the very first
second of Saturday, December 25th, with the same respective area-
based specifics. The turkeys will have a command available to show
the remaining time in the event once it begins.

Q: Wait, so you mean EVERYONE gets quest experience EVERY TEN MINUTES if
they care for their turkey? Like, just set up triggers on your client
and stay logged on letting the exp roll in?
A: Err ... I guess so? Happy Thanksgiving!

Q: So is this, like, some cheap stunt just to get everyone to stay logged
in 24/7 for two solid weeks?
A: I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Mmmmmm ... pie ...

Considering that the caretaking of the turkey grants quest experience I am guessing that idling with your turkey emote triggers is against the rules regarding botting (very much like herb or forge botting)?

Where does one buy triggers? From a client? Where does he/she/it reside?
