Hi!

I am so glad a few things happened since my January post.

1. Friends reached out to me. Several in fact. Quite a few in fact.
They made me realize I am not the only one to perceive reality
quite different from the admin. They also made me realize - more
importantly in fact - that I am missed and welcomed back.

2. Our keeper wrote two contradictory statements in one note. That
in itself is nothing new, BUT both are about me. One of those is
(quote):
Laurel has basically spent two decades (or more) just throwing crap
at whoever is in the admin, and it was a long time ago since I
stopped listening to what she has to say.

I don't care, BUT the other is (quote):
- The new EQ-decay system.
I am very happy with how this turned out. I think it's far better than
the old system and it's one of the things I am the most proud of when
it comes to big changes.

How is this one about me? You see I wrote a note on the forum a
longer while ago. Almost exactly 8 years ago, to be more precise.
There I wrote some suggestions and I don't even agree with some of
them now, BUT one of them was (quote):
All items always save. They just fade out, but at the speed of
(example) the crescent axe or the gigantic sword. All of them. You
can estimate by looking how long it will serve you (similar to gems
in corrupted mithril weapons).

No need to give credit to me yet, mister keeper. That should come
later because some more things happened.

3. Death penalty was changed. Great! You also made the thaumaturgist
pretty irrelevant if not obsolete with this change (and let me quote
the keeper on this):
- Race changes and the thaumaturgist.
Yes, I am also very happy with this one. Allowing players to change
stats without going suicidal is great (...)

Throwing someone's (your own?) hard work basically into garbage
because you overwrite it with a new addition a few months later is
very far from good resource management (both in terms of code
and people management). You should know this - you consider
yourself a good manager.
It also is (another) sign of a clear lack of vision and strategy.

Let me quote (myself) again:
Death penalty is changed - to what, I don't know, but suggested
solutions should be tested on the whole population (...)

The note is here:

You may notice there are more points in it. If I had to choose
which point to implement next, I'd vote for one - 10. It only
took 8 years to implement 2 of those things mentioned. Point
10 is EXTREMELY easy to code. It requires a total of 0 lines
of code. It would also significantly improve the balance of
resources as I described them in January. Some have already
started doing just that with their note on this very board.
Great - expand on it! Thank you in advanced!

It took 8 years to have 2 points from my list of suggestions
implemented and the credit for 1 taken away publicly in the
same note as my name was tarnished by you, again. I don't care
for prestige or credit for my ideas. I care for having a
community with less killers
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartle_taxonomy_of_player_types)
How many years will it take for 1 more? Point 10 please.
Pretty please with sugar on top. Stop feeding killers. There
should not be more than a few percent of them in a healthy
community and with the numbers we have, that means we have
WAY too many. Always had.

Also - thank you all who reached out to me. You are awsome!

Laurel
