Re: Let's talk about healing...
Damage mitigation and evasion do provide a boost to your effective hit points but not on a level that layman guild heals do (which provide pretty much infinite hit points). You also have to take into account the fact that WoHS must use those defensive tools to compensate for their abysmal core defen...

Re: Let's talk about healing...
If you nerf, heals lay or not, you would have to buff spell caster shields in some way to make up for some of the defense lost. There is also timeres for recast you could look into. you all seem to forget that this is a combat game, and all guild guilds have to work within this constraint. Utility ...

Re: Let's talk about healing...
An option could also be to make layman heals only work on others, not the caster themselves... That would make them be in the supporter role, but removing them from being a one man army. They should still be less powerful than now. No layman spell should be better (component cost, mana cost, effect...

Re: Let's talk about healing...
In my opinion there are 2 separate issues here: 1. Unequal access to healing - for layman guilds either all should require component use or none of them. Doesn't matter if it's charges like with warlocks or on-use components, it should be unified across the board. As is we do have more diversity whi...

Re: Vampire RPG
so i guess watching true blood doesnt count? kidding (even though the first season was not bad at all) So i guess these are worth reading? It depends. Those are mostly RPG core books so most of the content is rules, description of powers, very basic setting etc. The expansions like Anarchs, C...

Let's talk about healing...
I've seen quite a few balance-related notes being posted here recently but surprisingly no one is talking about healing, which is strange. Healing is now pretty much the goto strategy in Genesis and in my opinion it's heavily imbalanced and the way it's implemented it also leads to the desertion of ...

Vampire RPG
With Nerull's vampire guild coming soon(tm) I thought that it might be a good time to write a short article on one of my favorite RPG settings which is the World of Darkness and their take on vampires (perhaps it'll even give Nerull some ideas for last minute additions). Intro 30 years ago the first...
