Re: Changes to ogre weapons

I sense some rumours are about to be started based on speculation and assumptions, so I am going to try to quell those: I spoke to Gorboth about this about a month ago, and he's of course aware that other guilds could use the sledgehammer. He felt that they are still unique to ogres since they can w...

Re: Changes to ogre weapons

Have the users and the sellers of the sledgehammer been given their first(?) warning for exploiting a bug or do we nicely assume they had NO IDEA and just happened to be using it consistently despite it being quite an odd choice? There seem to be some sort of misconception among many players that b...

Re: Fact-checking and critical thinking

This topic has completely derailed. If anyone has anything more to say about fact-checking, rumours, critical thinking, etc, feel free to share your thoughts here. If you want to talk about guild balance and other sutff, please start a new thread and continue the discussion there.

Re: Fact-checking and critical thinking

Just to clarify, with a board I meant a board for mainly technical game updates. Balance changes, guild updates, new areas/quests, etc. Like Mirandus said, most AoP matters aren't worth sharing (player X lost their password isn't something everyone needs to know :)), and some AoP matters aren't suit...

Re: Fact-checking and critical thinking

Perhaps not a direct post by wizards, but rather NPCs gossiping about the new changes? That's a nice idea, but I think the more complex it is for us to keep you updated, the less like it is going to happen. When it comes to these things, the simplest possible way is probably best. And like Saimon m...

Re: Fact-checking and critical thinking

Maybe we should make a new board and call it "updates", or something like that. A place where we can post minor updates and other stuff that could be useful for players to know, but isn't important enough to warrant a common board post. (I think that one should be for important news only).

Re: Fact-checking and critical thinking

As someone who's been in two guilds over the years where some NPCs had been specifically coded to avoid our combat tactics, I can say there have been biases baked into the game. This leads to a huge lack of trust from the playerbase. Everyone knows there have been wizards/admin over the years who'v...

Re: What killed the PvP?

I would try this: If engaged in combat, your movement to a different room takes approximatey 2 seconds. That second may be reduced or increased depending on factors like, encumberance etc. That should induce some hunting / running scenarios that doesnt include 'runbacktoguildonabutton'-incidents. Y...

Re: Is death or EQ-loss worse?

Yeren/Mavros: I don't think duplicates would work, it's just just too abusable. But one of the ideas I've been considering is letting the killer pick ONE item from the corpse, and the rest are protected. Or the opposite, letting players protect one item that can't be looted if they die. Either by de...

Re: Fact-checking and critical thinking

Fixing the racial imbalance is number one on my list of priorities. I had planned to have it fixed by now to be honest, but I've been swamped with RL work all year until a week ago. That's for another thread, though, but I can tell you right away that it will definitely be a boost for your dear kend...
