Re: Update the Krynn War System: New Win Criteria

Would this sort of thing be a preferred war battle report? (mocked up) The Blue Dragonarmy, led by the merciless Harlot, had long been a dominant force on the battlefields of Krynn. With their relentless assault, they conquered no fewer than 151 battlefields, spreading fear and devastation across th...

Re: Update the Krynn War System: New Win Criteria

So we can also look at time between conquering for conquerors... so if there is a big gap between Hunter capturing an area from Harlot, that can also be used as an individual metric: Estwilde: Blue Dragon Army has held the area for 4.89 days. Free People has held the area for 2.19 days. Neidar Clan ...

Re: Update the Krynn War System: New Win Criteria

So i had a play with the warfare functions and we are able to measure how long an area has been conquered for...

Estwilde:
Neidar Clan has held the area for 0.17 days.
Blue Dragon Army has held the area for 4.47 days.
Free People has held the area for 2.19 days.

Re: Update the Krynn War System: New Win Criteria

I think the war victory condition should be changed from number of conquests to holding contested territory the longest. I'd like to address, first, the problems with the current win system, number of conquests. 1 - RDA and BDA are forced to either be adversarial or, when cooperative, forced to not...

Re: Update the Krynn War System: New Win Criteria

So, let’s preface this conversation by saying that the warfare system is built on the bones of VERY OLD legacy code. Carnak modernised it to allow for improved metric measurement before his retirement… but it isn’t documented or incorporated in to the current system. So any changes we make will requ...

Lolth's whimsy

<r><CODE><s>[code]</s>To the Drow of the Deep, Lolth, in her boundless whimsy, has shifted her gifts once again. What once was granted is no longer, replaced by something more in tune with her desires. The power you thought familiar is now gone, and another waits in its place. If you wish to underst...

Re: RR Warping

If you can convince AoB, I can implement this in a spit second. Good luck! :D If I was still AoB I'd say no. The argument to allow warping for other weapon types was the dearth of top tier options for, essentially, non-sword wielders (but mostly axe and club wielders). It's not like there isn't a l...

Re: A Choice For Oots

Good suggestion. My original intent was for exactly that, top level clerics being able to induct other players to other gods... if they had unlocked the appropriate revelation. I'd even be open to allowing players to switch to a god if they found the appropriate revelation... as long as their level ...

Re: Thoughts on damage

Arman/Serander: Like Nils clarified above, his suggestion wasn't too increase special attack damage only. That would in my opinion be a bad idea. I am a little surprised you'd consider that Arman. I mean, you were after all part of the change to fix the broken system with special attacks being too ...

Re: Let's talk about healing...

I personally think layman healing is generally fine, but it is pretty clear that free cast heals is probably too convenient. It might be time to consider layman guilds requiring more intensive component requirements
